【Wifi Monitor Anytime Anywhere】 We can remotely control and monitor INKBIRD ISV-500W via a 2.4G Wi-Fi connection from a smartphone, no matter where we are.
【Ultra Quiet 360° Water Circulation Heating & Timer Function 】ISV-500W works without noise and supports 360-degree water circulation heating that can heat each food bag evenly and fastly. We can set a timer ranging from 1 to 99 hours and 59 minutes and a temperature ranging from 0℃ to 90℃, and there will be a prompt when the cooking is completed.
【8L Large Capacity Sous Vide Pot】ISV-500W integrates the heater with the pot and comes with an airtight glass lid for better heat preservation. This more convenient and better-looking all-in-one design makes the ISV-500W a better choice than traditional sous-vide cookers.
【Water Shortage Protection】ISV-500W always ensures safety in use. If the water in the pot reaches the minimum water level, the cooker will automatically stop heating and remind us to take protective measures by beeping. We will also get a message on the app in time to reduce accidental losses, no matter where we are.
【Ergonomic Design】 INKBIRD sous vide water oven has a recessed design on the bottom of the fuselage for easy holding. Large LCD screen for easy reading and setting. You can still use this precision smart oven if you are not good at smart stuff. The sous vide water machine also supports settings, and the recipe is completely defined by yourself
【Cook More, Save More】ISV-500W adopts a food-grade stainless steel pot with a capacity of 8L, allowing us to cook multiple bags of various food simultaneously. During cooking, the highly airtight glass lid reduces the evaporation of internal moisture and enhances heat preservation. Less time, less water, less electricity= energy-saving, more eco-friendly.
【Be A Chef At Home】Sous-vide cooking meets our different requirements for food doneness, and it can lock in the original flavor and moisture of the food during the cooking process. It's perfect for cooking beef, pork, chicken, fish, vegetables, eggs, lamb, and more. With accurate temperature and time control, even novice cooks, anyone can create restaurant-quality meals.

  • Sounds good.

Keen to try one of these devices. Never used one before.

    A couple it questions

How easy is it to clean?
Any removable bits that can be washed separately in the sink/ dish washer, or is the whole thing a one piece device and cleaning is a pain?

How long is the life expectancy of such a device on careful normal use? Warranty period?

It doesn't get dirty, you need to put the food in a vacuum sealed bag. This just heats water for the bag to sit in.

My stick has had extensive use for at least 3 years. Personally I would prefer a stick over this, because a lot of the things I cook would not fit in this but I have a variety of pots and even an old esky I cut a hole in the top of for the stick so I can cook whatever size I want.

      • If I am cooking eggs in a sous vide bath, will the calcium from the shells build up on the coils ?

        • +2

Just use vinegar + water from time to time if that becomes a problem.

          • @Anubizz: Awesome, thanks for the tip. Just got the stick, yet to make something using it.

      • +1

Ah, the old "hole in an esky" trick

  • Why would you buy this over https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/843373

    It's over twice the price.

  • which one is better?

  • Save a bit splurge a bit and get Anova oven instead, so much better

    • +1

"a bit" is an understatement. Anova oven is ~$900

  • I have the Inkbird vac sealer and am unimpressed with the ability to vac. Constantly leaves air in the bag and the meat-fish are always floating. I've had better success with using the emersion sealing method with a ziplock bag. Much preferred my FoodSaver brand.

  • Anyone making beer with this?

    • +1

Once again better with an immersion, unless you are gonna drill a hole in the side for a drain getting the wort out would be an issue… pump maybe?

With an immersion I have heard of people just slipping it down beside the grain bag but it would be for very small batches or for additions to an extract brew.

If you are serious about beer just get a digiboil, they are cheap and you can modify them to perform as well as any grainfather (without the smarts, but if you can read a recipe and operate a timer you don't need them).

  • How am I going to fit a tomahawk in that?
