Last time no one barely had stock. Is it going to be any different this time? I rang their customer service last time and they said they get a lot of complaints about this. Best chance of getting stock is to get it on the first day of the sale. Otherwise try a pricematch at Kmart

"I got some today. Apparently sale item normally starts 1 day early"

Does this mean they'll be loading them into cabinets tonight, ready for tomorrow morning?

14/11 just might be the day for Kmart price match. …Yeah, over before it began.

Yeh last time i went in mornjng at 9am and someone already came at 8.30 took all at bankstown centro bigw!!!

    • It's quite obvious many stores keep very low stock levels. They don't provide a rain cheque for this item either.

    • Yeah some jerk come on here happy with himself for going to multiple stores and cleaning them out.

You obviously don't know about "broden "

Here we go again. Sale of a non stocked item.

Did the DSE staff get the job at BigW after their store closed down?

  • Can this still be started as an iPad SIM for 3GB?

    • yes, get the micro sim version or use sim cutter on normal sim version..
activate over the phone as ipad sim and u'll get 3gb.

      • No worries!
Actually I don't have an ipad - do they want any confirmation from the device? Just gonna use it in my portable wifi.

or if you don't like waiting on the phone just use the telstra chat service ;)
        https://livechat.telstra.com/

  • with discount, this is ok but original price, $30 only gets you $30 value for just 30 days? way too expensive!

    • There are many pre-paid options.
I'm on the Encore plan and it gives me $250 worth of calls and texts, and 400MB data on NextG.
And unlimited calls and texts between 6pm and 6am.

      • If all you are getting with $30 of prepaid credit on telstra you are doing it wrong. Just ENABLING $30 of credit gives you $250 of calls and texts + 400MB of data

THEN you spend the credit on bonuses, like 700MB of data.

So $30 of credit gives you $250 calls + text and 6pm-6am free calls + 1.1GB of data for the 30 days.

      • If I activate it with the LongLife plan, would this $30 credit be expired in 30 days? Anyone know if this is the real money you get in your account or just the bonus?

  • Last time I went to Big W on the afternoon and the guy at the counter said they'd only received 4 or 5 of these kits and that's pretty normal. I tried price matching at Kmart at that time but they were also aware of no stock at that BigW. That time I actually needed one but now I don't, so I probably won't bother this time around. Thanks for the heads up though.

Did you set your own conditions?

        FYI

Competitor's product must be in stock in the required quantities in a retail outlet located in Australia. Product must be identical (e.g. same brand, same model, same colour). Adequate confirmation of competitor's current advertised price required. We will not match online retailers, clearance or warehouse outlets.

Thats because Telstra are a bunch of ……

  • I went to Rockdale Big W during the last sale, and the guy told me he had only 5 packs.
I wanted to buy 2, but he wouldn't sell me 2.
He said the staff got abused the previous time for not having any stock!
I told him they should have more stock if they have such a sale.
He said they had no control over stock. Telstra only supplied a few packs every month.

Coles and Woolworths don't seem to have this issue when they run the same promotion

  • There are a lot of Nano sim starter kit in stock. Why not just cut the nano sim version (with the original package) to micro sim size.

    • Nano SIM is smaller in size than micro SIM. Not sure how you can cut it to make it bigger.

      • That is why I said "with the original package". Normally, nano sim or micro sim is sitting in a credit-size card, just cut that into micro sim dimension.

    • Buy the nano sim on sale, wait the sale is over ( and all the sims will be in stock again) and swap it.

  • Can we port from telstra prepaid to telstra prepaid?

    • nope unfortunately these are not recharges, stuck using the Creditme2U within Telstra facility.

  • Screw Bigdub, try Officeworks fellas. Got one last time and it even scanned for $10.

    • …they should be so lucky, technically that should probably be 9.5. -.-

         we'll beat it by 5%.

Went to Waverley Gardens (Mulgrave 3170 VIC) BIG W and the lady said, "someone this morning bought all 5 of the orange standard sized SIMs" so I said "okay then, can I get the micro SIM", she said "sure, we have heaps of the pink ones."
I bought the micro one cause, a while back harvey norman gave me a free micro sim adapter because they ran out of the regular sized sims.
