      I tried Intel A380 LP and 1050ti LP on my optiplex with 8500CPU. Both fit the case physically, and both are not working. It seems the factory BIOS/UEFI cannot recognise dedicated gpu.

        Get a PCIe extender ribbon cable and try plugging the GPU into the other PCIe slot.

        I've found that the slot where a GPU can physically fit doesn't register the GPU but using the other slot does. Twice - one was an old 9020 box and more recently for a 7030 (I think) box.

        It's worth spending the ten bucks to give it a try before scrapping your ghetto gaming PC idea entirely.

      Im using a Dell Optiplex 7040 with a GT1030 Slim.
      I think a 3060 may be a little too much on the PSU so you should do some research on that front.

    6 cores, 12 threads. This would be a good machine for running a bunch of VMs on without breaking a sweat. Shove 32GB memory in it and you're golden.

        With the quicksync I have frigate and plex. Then extra audiobookshelf, pihole, vlmcsd, ownfoil, etc

          Storage is a little small and some apps may need more ram thats all.. not a big deal. CPU is fast enough
