Have these, great speakers. No sub out though but if using PC can use the sub out from your mobo if required.

  • Does anyone know off the top of their head if I can plug these directly into an Arturia KeyLab MkII

"The Keylab is just a midi controller. It does not have any audio in/out capabilities. The Aux sockets on the back do not pass through any audio, as per the description in the manual they are purely for the connection of continuous pedals and footswitches.

You can kind of do what you want to do but you would have to use an audio interface in your computer."

Yeah that's what I thought, or maybe a pre-amp if set up correctly. I'm getting rid of my upright and considering whether to (temporarily) replace it with the keylab or the casio digital piano. Looks like the casio will go there.

I don’t think a preamp would do it, sounds like no audio output at all based on the above (keylab)

Are these proper monitors or just speakers incorrectly branded as Monitors? Edifier aren't always consistent here.

How do these compare to the JBL LSR305 MKII? How do they compare in terms of value for money? (JBLs are $320 at Belfield).

    • Seems Edifier monitors according to Edifier's site also…

The JBL will be leagues above these. They are also triple the price so not fair to compare.

Edifier are cheap but decent for the price. I'm not a fan personally.

      Go the JBL all day

  • How do these compare to the R1280Db / similar? Upgrade or downgrade? Have had my edifies since 2019 and they’ve been amazing.

Good price, thanks for posting OP. I have been watching these for a while, Amazon currently has them at $144 (all time low is $119 briefly in mid-2022).

The lack of free shipping to WA is a killer. Would cost me $137 shipped to my door (before a card fee, mind you) and delivery must be signed for which is a pain. The $5 savings here don't overcome the simplicity and next-day free delivery with Amazon for me.

Even with EOFY around the corner, it doesn't look like Amazon will ever revisit their all-time low of $119…
