Same price from them direct and you can take advantage of the filament and other extras on discount which you can’t via amazon

For those lazy like me, here's the link https://au.store.bambulab.com/products/p1p

Cost is $919+shipping from the official store

    • Bambu filament is overpriced

      • I think it's ok if you buy enough spools to get the discount.

    • +2

Have seen people complaining about issues with Bambu support too (mostly overseas in the FB groups).

I got mine from Bambu AU as it was much better priced but knowing Amazon will likely take it back if Bambu stuffs you around (like Delonghi did with my coffee machine and Amazon refunded me without a question) would be worth the extra few bucks too.

  • Can't see the "$345 coupon" checkbox.

    • It doesn't say anything in T&C, but it may be only available to Prime members.

    • I couldn't see it either until I clicked on the "Other Sellers" and the alternative buy option has the $345 coupon

Both ship from Amazon, only difference is the seller, Bambu Lab Technology (no coupon) vs Bambu Lab AU (has coupon)

Same deceptive practices they've always done on Amazon, increase the price and offer a discount.

  • +4

Has been this price shipped from BBL directly ever since the P1S came out, which is what you should be buying instead of this anyway.

if you want a corexy then sure…but why not spend the extra and go p1s to have the enclosure.
If you dont care about abs asa etc, a1/a1 mini are pretty damn capable too
for beginners - intermediate as well, a1 series is so much easier to maintain (IMO)

also consider if you DONT have a international fee card, you MAY also get hit with transaction fees going direct to bambu, so, it works out nearly same as getting it through amazon

personally i recommend getting it through amazon - purely for an extra layer of protection if things go pear shaped.
so many reports in bambu facebook groups about being ghosted by bambu support / non-sensical robot/scripted replies.

    • I haven't had any issues yet other than Toll, get it thru Amazon

I had this problem … I went through Bambu Lab website and paid AUD, and still got a transaction fee on the credit card I was using…since I guess it was an international transaction in AUD? It's just annoying because I thought I was purchasing from within Australia (given the URL https://au.store.bambulab.com/) with AUD, and if I had known, I would have just used a different credit card of mine with no intl transaction fee.

      • Contact your bank, normally they will refund it.

        • I believe it’s cba … Beause of transaction is being processed in overseas… same issue with myprotien

          • @lw1987321: I keep international transactions locked with CBA so don't get any unexpected surprises (normally use another fee free card in that case)

  • this P1P for $954 or A1 + AMS for $899?
I have a Ender 3 v2 and am tried of the endless troubleshooting and prep time to get it print, are the P1P and A1 "just works"?

    • +1

We got the a1 mini recently (without ams), as a first printer. I probably printed 50 items directly through the app before I even installed the slicer. Sounds cliche, but yes, everything "just worked".

I'd definitely get the a1 +ams lite instead unless you are concerned about the open ams lite. I'm considering upgrading just because I want the enclosed ams to not have to worry about having to pack the rolls away after printing.

      • thanks that's very helpful

    • I've had the P1S about 2 months now - approaching 250 print hours and no failures. Worked straight out of the box.

A1 beats the P1 series with the better screen, better AMS system and much easier to swap nozzles. It takes up a lot of space though and flings filament everywhere - so you need to print a chute/catcher.

P1 beats the A1 with slight better printing especially for tall vertical prints + can be enclosed for ABS/TPU etc. It takes up a lot less less space, especially if you have the P1S AMS

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Bambu line at the moment - but I'd go the A1+AMS over the P1P if space allows.

    • I came from an Ender 3 v2 as well. Get the P1S combo, even if you don't do multicolour, the ams is super handy because it keeps your filament dry. AMS lite doesn't do that. The touchscreen on the A1 is useless as well, I don't even touch anything on the printer, just send your file using OrcaSlicer and you can control it from OrcaSlicer or Bambu Handy.

    • I vote a1 with ams lite

Sure it’s extremely wasteful filament and time wise but god damn it’s convenient

    • I also had the Ender 3 v2 before. It was so frustrating to configure it with that bloody piece of paper, combined with all the accessories you were recommended to get to improve it just so it would print straight (thankfully i didnt) and the fact that a small amount of restriction on the filament feed would jam up the whole printer and cause it to stop feeding filament.

Got the P1P and never looked back….i used to think "just works" was some bulls**t marketing but its pretty true….but you gotta brush up on your slicer skills though if you want to perfect it.

  • This is the normal price. They just up their prices on Amazon and use a coupon.

  • It's 919 + 50 shipping from Bambu lab direct. $3 more expensive

Bambu lab AU does use toll though which are a pain in the ass when I got my P1S Combo delivered 2 weeks ago, $3 amazon tax is worth it. Also the P1P is terrible value compared to the P1S

    • But if you only ever print PLA or PETG, it's a simpler printer which doesn't need to cool the chamber.

  • my understanding is that it's a great printer, with one giant exception- that you can only load up a file (to print on your printer) through the cloud through bambu's server.
If any international politics or various other possibilities kick in and the bambu server won't function for you…. I believe you have an expensive paperweight.
I'm happy for anyone to correct me.

    • Easy, turn on LAN only mode and you're away

      • You've done that yourself? Printed via a lan connection, without any bambu server interaction?

        • Have the P1S, and yes - LAN mode for me was quite painless. Swapping between the two requires the extra step of signing in again but LAN mode was easy to get to and reliable. If you want just put it in LAN mode and forget.

      • Ahh… I see that a LAN only mode was created for bambu printers some time after original release.
Google advice indicates that you lose the camera function, and the ability to monitor what's going on remotely via app, etc.
So what was a hard "don't buy" for me is now… you can buy it, but be aware you'll have various stuff arounds and lose some functionality.
Which leads me to….. why would any reasonable manufacturer design it this way? Do they want to poach files? Do they want to be able to reduce functionality for targeted or all users?
Still ends up a hard fail for me.

        • I think there are more and more reliable, CoreXY printers coming out to market.

Qidi are apparently pretty good, and they come with Klipper out of the box.

        • You lose access to the Bambu Handy app as this communicates via their server - if you use your desktop and Bambu Slicer program then everything works fine (including the camera)

    • Can print from Micro SD card. Been doing it on my X1 Carbon.
So it will not be a paperweight until the hot end clogs! Only once. Been flawless other than that.

      • does the camera and phone app work while doing that?

        • +1

Nope but work won't let it connect to the network which is fair enough. I have used the camera and phone app when I first started using the printer using a hotspot but found them rather pointless (personal opinion).

I have found checking the print in the first 10 minutes is the critical part, after that it is good to go. New filaments, plates etc. need more monitoring as it changes the setup but I have a solid set of parameters now for ASA, ABS and PLA which are my main filaments.

          • @sobriety22: I've had to use the "skip item" function in the app a couple of times because of bad first layer in some of the multi item prints I've done, assuming the fault was a not perfectly clean bed, very "handy"

  • Standard price, try get 10% code from telegram.

This isn't a deal, as much as I love my BBL P1S and want more people in the hobby, I dont want them jumping at this 'deal' that is just RRP you can get from the manufacturer on every day of the week.
