Not a great price compared to sub $150 AUD for the Alldocube iPlay 50 Mini Pro

That link is much cheaper overall for the iPlay 50 Mini at $175.41 AUD for the 128GB

I wouldn’t be listing ‘8GB virtual memory’ as some kind of feature or benefit…

But iPlay 50 Mini Pro has G99 which is a much better processor

My iPlay40 still going strong since 2020 in case anyone doubts the brand.

If the tablets have the touch input issue, how do you resolve it?

    • I found the kapton tape 'fix' worked for me.
Basically you apply the tape over the back of the LCD panel, to insulate it from the LCD ribbon cable.
I dont know why this works, as the ribbon cable is already electrically-insulated.

I'm told its the same issue+fix that one of the old Sony Xperia tablets had.

      • Yep I did the tape one too, but how is Banggood going to resolve it, surely they can't tell everyone to go open up their tablets, but who wants to send it back as well. Theres also the weird charging issue at around 80-9x%

        • Oh that B-word gives me nightmares…

After faffing about with Banggood support for about 2 months… they offered me a Half Refund (~$70) in the end.
And no, it was Not really worth the time and effort (im prolly going to lose my ozB license for saying that).

          Whats this charging issue ???
I havent heard anything about that on the early iPlay50 Minis.

          • @wildchill: You're lucky. It's actually a hardware fault that no insulation tape was used.

  • My iPlay 20 from 2020 is still going strong.

  • My iPlay 40H from 2022 is a power house.

  • My iPlay 40H …. has LCD ghosting …. and issues with Mesh WiFi….

  • For those that have the earlier iPlay50 Mini (non NFE)…..
There appears to be new firmware with Netflix support….

    https://www.alldocube.com/en/firmware/alldocube-iplay50minit…

Im not sure if they published the firmware on the wrong page, but the file name is "iPlay50mini(T811)_EN_NETFLIXL1-20240115.T"

And I think you need to USB flash it (warning - your device gets WIPED).

I did try the OTA update, which did update to a "20240115" firmware, but the update didnt have "NETFLIX" in the name.
I dont use Netflix.. so I cant test it for you guys.

    Get the pro.

  • Just to note, there are touch input issues with the iplay 50's where it doesn't respond until it's locked/unlocked. You will need to open it up and apply some emi shielding tape. There's also a battery charging issue where it just flickers very rapidly between charging and non charging, not sure how that will affect the longevity of the battery.

This might not happen to all, but there is quite a few people who have those issues so YMMV

    • I dun think its an EMI issue.. as I just used kapton tape… which is plastic with no EMI shielding at all.

Yeh… the comments section on the alldocube Firmware page …. is literally full of a complaints about the touch input issue.
Interestingly, there wasnt a single comment resembling "mine works fine".

      • I did put up a forum post on here asking if anyone else had the same issues but didn't get any others. I just followed the discord guy's method, tape was around $2 anyway :D now the power issue is really bugging me..

  • FYI ALLDOCUBE Tablet Official Store on AliExpress has iPlay 50 Mini PRO for US $126.39 inc. free shipping for me.
