    IME, the ~3AM MEL-SIN departure time is a challenge…

    • -1

Is Melbourne airport open at 3am? That's pretty cool.
Don't know why Sydney shuts at 10

      • Curfew.

Credit status and points earned to Qantas Frequent Flyer

These have EK flight numbers so no status credits for Qantas FF, and only a very small number of points.

10 across in a B777 is pretty brutal. This is probably a fair price for that product.

    • Its not the worst, I've had to do it a few times before, and I cant really notice the difference in comparison to an A35K/B789 ect.

But sure a 9 abreast B77W is always superior

    • For some reason, I found Emirates 777 seating to be very comfortable even though it is 10 across. The meals onboard are amazing compared to what Qantas offers.

The 3am departure means the two times I did this route it was 50% full at most. Had the row to myself both times.

  • Does the discounted pricing apply to one-way flights MEL<-> SIN across the same date range? From a quick search it looks like each leg one-way is more expensive higher than the total (discounted) return fare, so maybe I'm doing something wrong.

    • 8 am arrival is great though if you can manage to have enough is sleep on planes. Works great for a short holiday without wasting a day getting there.

Most dates are $768 direct from emirates. I’d definitely pay $40 more for the peace of mind for when shit hits the fan and you need to make changes to your plans.

Any sales on Brisbane flights OP?

    • -1

      Or Gold Coast please ..

Need to book a holiday & at this point, i don’t care what country lol just waiting on a decent sale to explore somewhere

      • I notice flights always come from NSW/VIC, Qld seems to have the last sales for some reasons.

        • -1

No flights. Emirates doesn’t fly from QLD. All the budget airlines have left GC/ Brisbane and the Chinese Airlines don’t come to Bris.

The only flights cheap from Bris are Jetstar to Japan and Korea.

    • Unfortunatley not. However I am keeping an eye out!

"Credit status and points earned to Qantas Frequent Flyer"

This is only partially true. If you book with an Emirates (EK) flight number, you will ONLY earn a very limited amount of points.

    Return Fare:
    Status Credits: 0
    Points: 2000*

If you book with a Qantas (QF) (QF8404 and QF8405) flight number, you will earn the same points and status credit rate as a Qantas flight. You MUST book through Qantas.com only and make sure the flight you are selecting is an Emirates flight marketed as QF8405 and QF8404. A very experienced TA with a Qantas Agency Connect account can also book these.

    Return Fare:
    Status Credits: 60
    Points: 5200*

*For Qantas Silver, Gold, Platinum, Platinum One, Chairmans Lounge, you will also earn your applicable points booster

    • Only 60 SC for a return flight to Singapore?

      • +3

Correct. 30 Status Credits each way on a Discount Economy fare.

    • Side note, this will cost $1100 (return) if booked through Qantas

  • Any japan flights around Feb?

  • Any thoughts on why only MEL and not other Australian ports?

    • Nope

    • +7

Emirates is utilizing their 3rd slot in Melbourne and in Singapore with a B77W with a stop in Singapore to Dubai.
Emirates can easily fill the flight from SIN-DXB, and from MEL-SIN they utilize the flight for freight.

Also because other major airports have curfews. This flight leaves at 3 am which can't happen from other airports.

  • Hi everyone,

I tried found them earlier this afternoon but have just logged on to have a look but I can't seem to find them? Seems to have gone up to about $900ish now? Changing the dates did not make a difference. Are they sold out?

    • Let me just call my man in Dubai and get back to you.
