    Typically fine to use past use by, just not months and months past.
    It may start to smell a bit weird if you leave it too long though

      I bought about 10kgs many years ago for like $20 or $30. It was already a year past the date when I bought it but was still OK.

    it is usually fine. The bag is sealable and you can place it in the fridge to extend the shelf life as well.
