  • I ordered online on the Sunday but it was processed on the 10th and even worse, charged in one lot of 24.99 and another of 25.99! Both arrived in separate packages and at the same time. I hope I get the cash back. Order date was 9th. Otherwise I'm calling shenadigans

  • I purchased online on the 9th of December. The transaction has cheekily showed up as the 10th of December. I expect the $25 credit promised to be actioned.

If anyone finds the best way to get this resolved can they please post it.

I contacted AMEX and they are giving it as a gesture of goodwill, I was still annoyed that Rebel held off processing the charge, some people may miss out if they don't pay attention

Can you tell me what number you called to contact AMEX? I made my purchase online on the 9th, but payment was processed on the 10th.. so i have not gotten my cash back. My card is through a commbank account.. do I contact commbank, or AMEX???

Just received my speedos today. I look quite good in them actually.

        • I'm in the same boat, and AMEX seem to have intentionally made it really difficult to find any contact details for this offer.

        • I just managed to get mine solved - I rang AMEX on (02) 92718655 - I did go through to an international call center, But the lady that helped me (with an american accent) just had to complete a form on my behalf, and then she was going to send it through to the appropriate team in Sydney to have it sorted. She said they have a very good response time and hopefully I will have herd something by post before Christmas. (she expects I will get a cheque in the mail)
I wont be leaving it to the last minute to make use of my AMEX cash back offers anymore.. but atleast I now know a way of getting it sorted if i have any problems with any promotional offers in the future. Hope this helps anyone who was in the same situation!! :-)

        • missspeckles - Who is your Amex with?
supaboi - time for you to upload a profile pic?

        • Mine is with Commonwealth bank, I rang them, and they said it was nothing to do with them, and that I had to call AMEX directly.. so i called the number above, and I was told that it will be rectified.

        • I logged into my amex card and emailed from there

        • I'm in the same boat with the purchase being done on the 9th and payment appearing on my statement as the 10th.

I called (02) 92718655 at 8pm yesterday. They said they were aware of this happening, and that i should call between 9am-6pm and speak to the members awards department. I did that, and they said my comm bank card is not their problem. they reckon they don't have access to it and referred me back to comm bank. So.. i called comm bank and they said they don't have this rebel offer and referred me back to Amex! So i did and got the same infuriating response!

This is odd because I have a confirmation email from [email protected]
which confirms that i have successfully registered.

missspeckles, have you got any more information on how you got this sorted successfully?
is anyone else having this amount of difficulty as me?

        • im in the same boat (hopefully its a large boat since im quite heavy) and i have yet to call them but your experience doesn't look very good…

Spend $50 on speedo's they say, you'll get $25 back they say

        • I've got to say, I'm pretty satisfied with Amex right now. I complained to them about my Rebel purchase not being eligible due to a glitch in the rebel system (not Amex's fault) and then I went and bought some stuff for $44 thinking I wouldn't get the credit as it was after the date. Then I got an email saying that as a gesture of good will they would issue the credit anyway.

On a separate note, I disputed a $30 interest fee for a 1 day late payment (apparently legitimate, but seemed large) and they issued me a $30 credit for that.

          Pays to complain apparently…
