  • 200+ for those without hue bridge

    • It’s still cheaper because you don’t need to spend $400 on a sync box for the TV; the PC comes with a free desktop app.

You don't need a hue bridge, you can use other zigbee coordinators with it. These will work with Zigbee2MQTT and you can use them in "HOME ASSISTANT" that way without the bridge - (add childish pelvic thrust animation courtesy of P.Hibbert here).

      • Can you add it to your TV?

        • It wouldn't work for light sync, that's what the PC app is doing. Govee has some LED strip products that have a sensor that mounts above the TV to control the backlight.

        • Yea like @Hank Scorpion said, it won’t work for light sync unless you buy the sync box which is insanely overpriced. However, some Samsung TVs have a native app for it which should work, but is also insanely overpriced.

    Cheaper at officeworks.

    For example:
    24-27" $79. In store only.
    https://officeworks.youinstock.com.au/search/huegrpcs27

    • These prices are clearance items; you won't find them on the product website or in stores.

      • Yup. Highly limited availability, but available in the stores cited on the stock checker. Bought some last week.

    • They also have the 32-34" for $79 if you can find them.

  • Too bad.. I have the Samsung 49 inch OLED monitor, and Corsair xeneon Flex Oled 45inch.

    Non seems will fit..

  • Does anyone know the actual strip length of these? Wanting to use this as an ambient light for something but not sure where the lengths are listed

    • They’re listed on the Hue website if you can find the same SKU.

      32-34 is 1.16m

I'd like to use these in a display cabinet but they'd cost as much as the cabinet itself! They are way overpriced. Should be half this sale price. It's just a strip of LEDs and basic power supply after all

      • It’s not the LED that is expensive, it’s the controller. If you look at smart LED light strip controllers, they can cost quite a lot (at least $30 on Aliexpress)

Much more if wanting Zigbee, Hue integration, individual lighting scenes

Controller and power supply would be an extra 10-20

  • I've been eyeing the shorter one for my 27" LG Ultragear monitor (but it has a ring on the back that I think would make it difficult to mount). Has anyone managed to make the light strip work with it?

  • Does anyone know how these look on a triple monitor? If playing a game on just the middle screen, does it project the game all the way to the side lights?

  • -6

What's the point of this? I don't have a wall at the back of my monitor so all the light I'm going to get is just from the reflection on my desk

  • I was going to ask if these would work on a TV, but these don't seem long enough to line the back of my 65"

    • +2

Can you combine them? 3x27 pack for $199 …cheaper and long enough for a 65inch tv?

    • USB powered led light strips on Aliexpress for less than $20 for 5 metres. Not Philips Hue or gradient of course. But if you just want a single colour, they are great.

  • What is the difference between hue gradient and normal hue light strip?

    • +3

Gradient strips can do several colours at once and transition between them, it’s hard to explain how cool this is in practice if you haven’t seen them

I was a big “why would you bother with this” and now my entire house is hue.

      • Thanks!

  • anyone have a recommendation for LED channels with diffuser to use on these strips? been looking for awhile.

    • They come with their own diffuser built in + mounting clips for the back of the TV / Monitor etc

But my gradient strips in the kitchen are in I believe standard 16mm channels routed into the underside of the cabinets

  • +1

Actually worth it at this price, however Phillips are being very slow to deal with my RMA on a faulty LED with my one

    • +1. I purchased inexpensive ones from Amazon and AliExpress, but they were like garage compared to the Philips ones. Philips has the best syncing app and ecosystem by far.

  • Damn. I bought one like two months ago for $200 or so.

  • This was a one day sale?

    • Yeah I was looking at getting it today or tomorrow thinking it would be more than just a day…

      • +1

Went in today and saw the sale was already finished and the full price has increased.

    • It is 2weeks sale I think
