Good prices for the first half of October (Barcelona, Milan). Not sure about the duration of the layover in HK - haven't checked. And not the most direct route to Europe. But cheap! Good deal!

Nice find OP. Cheapest MEL <> HKG <> LHR I’ve seen for Cathy Pacific. Their food used to be great for HKG <> LHR. 1.5 hrs layovers at HKG seems pretty tight but should be fine for 1. Same airline 2. Any delay will be caught up for long haul flights.

  I thought Cathay was absolutely fine (maybe not as great as SA - but I love Singapore Airline so I'm biased)
  One thing that bothered me though, was some staff and even border patrol!! were taking photos of my (very blonde) 18 months daughter at the airport.
  
  Kinda creepy and unprofessional.
  
  Hong Kong International Airport is also nowhere near as nice as Changi (but then again, Changi is seriously something else)

      I rank Singapore and Qatar pretty evenly. Prefer the route of Qatar, in-flight experience of Singapore.
      
      Shorter layover the better. And of course there's the choice or aircraft, and…price!!

London………even during the day its not safe

My dad went there was constantly hustled by odds looking people asking for money and getting followed, this is when he was travelling with my brother…………

Paris is even worse…………..got camera stolen during the day and almost got mugged when walking in a quiet location.

Asian countries are much safer!
