Damn that's even cheaper than the last deal I bought…

Would be even cheaper if you get Bunnings to Price Beat it.

    • +2

bunnings staff: we will not match prime day discounts

  • Highly recommend it. Mine has been great. Bought the 2 pack for $815 a year ago.

    • How are the solar panels? Have been reading lots of reviews about them peeling and poor customer service.

      • There is a different design solar panel on the latest ones, its more of a matte finish and kind of looks just like a black bit of metal. I guess this was to address the peeling complaints.

      • +1

Solar been great so far - even in the gloom of the Melbourne winter, it's holding at around low 90% charge

        • are they mounted below the roof line or on the gutter getting direct view of the sun?

          • +1

@Niceye: One is on the fence getting direct sunlight most of the day.
Other camera was the one I thought would have trouble as it only gets sunlight from the west and it's below the deck's roofing; both east and north is shaded but that is actually holding at 99%. Perhaps there's way less movement there so isn't draining the battery as much.

    • I don't have much to compare it to, but I'm disappointed at the unusable sound (it's compressed like a worst phone call and cuts off too) and operating it isn't the most convenient - you need to process/download the videos one by one via your phone and it's just tedious when you have dozens, hundreds of events. The "AI" is meh so far.

Surely the night vision and easy setup are great.

  • Is this a relatively recent model?

  • Great Price.

    Would Bunnings price match this?

    • -1

      yes

    • +1

      refused to match for me

      • Did u visit the store or calling them? I was able to match it last time.

        • on phone, manager said prime day and not a normal price. we will not match.

    • Update
I emailed their customer service, and after 3 days, I received a quote for $897.30 today

  • Whatever happened to the Anker store that sold refurbished stock? Seems to have stopped operating.

  • OOS??

  • Gone

  • Wow, so quick.

  • Damn too late

  • (profanity) sake was driving to bunnings right now.. should have purchased this. Kicking myself…

    • +1

It's DYI, as long as you can drill a hole you don't need an installer

    • +1

      These are wireless.
How come you ended an installer for it?

        • +9

So you didn't buy this deal.

        • +2

          ?????
          R u ok

        • Lol so your experience has nothing to do with this product at all

    • +1

The whole point of these is you can install them yourself anywhere within about 100 meters of the homebase, just drill 2 holes, screw in the gimble mount then attach the camera.

        • Still better than sitting in a box and not being powered by anything.
Also unless you are gong to invest in a good UPS, PoE will go down in a power outage or if someone kills your power.

@sobriety22: wireless jamming is trivial. only a dummy would use these cameras

        • +2

Power isn't the issue, Wifi being jammed and event based recording are the biggest concern with these.

Pretty much all home security on a budget has its flaws and is really just to be used as a deterant and a way to check on your yard/dog/gate while you are away from home on your phone.

I personally have the hardwired floodlight cams for this purpose as they were good value compared to replacing floodlights with the old arlec monsters.

I've set up this kit for 2 other people around hobby farms in remote locations so they can keep an eye on things from thier phone.

          • @Kegsta: Good setup.
I understand about the jamming, but as per the big forum post on here, cameras are a deterrent, if someone truly wants to steal from you, cameras will not stop them.

    Great price and great cameras.

After having used Eufy solar cameras now for some time, I am switching over to the Eufy S340 cameras.

The S340 is far superior from a usability perspective, at least for my use case and they appear better protected against the elements - at least with the optional protective hood installed.

Food for thought… do check out the s340 series before investing into these.

    • +1

Just bought this deal because this is the cheapest I've seen. I saw the S340 but it would be expensive though 🫰 .

      • +1

        Excellent deal!

Yep, the s340 appear more expensive but two of those replaced 3 static cameras (s40's) as the s340's have a much larger reach/radius to cover.

Anyway, the s330's are definitely great.

Just make sure not to buy into the older model s40 as they are disintegrating after about 1 year of use outside (solar panel peeling, water intake, etc.).

    • +1

Thanks, never even looked into the S340 model and looks impressive specs wise and with the detachable solar panel.
For your use case, the pan and zoom feature or the dual lens function was what you were looking for?

      • +2

The pan feature was the main point for me as two of them now cover my entire front (replaced three s40's).

The dual lens and zoom is actually really good too.

I added the sun/rain hood and the camera now has very limited exposure to the elements. Time will tell how good the cameras will hold up but I expect them to last longer than my s40's.

  • Very good price

  • I have been holding out for Unifi Protect cameras as Im already in the Unifi Network ecosystem but even on sale, the cameras are so damn expensive compared to EUFY, Reolink etc and it's not like the specs are any better.

  • How do you put only 1 security camera on an outside corner (not 90 degrees)? Would you need 2 camera in that use case, to cover both sides?

    • +1

They have quite a wide angle lense in these, can probably see around 160 degrees in front of itself would be my guess.

  • Amazing price! I wouldn’t say cams are great, but it is decent compared to other offerings.

I prefer to buy from bunnings/jb hifi with electronics though in case of product failures as it makes it alot easier to get it fixed/replaced (I’ve had to get replacement homebase and 3 out of 4 eufy cams in the last two years).

  • Bought these from a recent deal. 3/4 cameras keep drooping down in about a weeks time. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    • Rotate the Gimble and have the camera in a spot where the drooping position is where you want it pointed.

      • Will try that.
        Thanks

  • +1

What are people's thoughts of Reolink vs Eufy?

    • Wonder samething

  • Can you set this to do continuously recording?

    • You can't.

  • Just check, I have the floodlight camera purchased from Eufy on Amazon. I've had issues with it and contacted Eufy support who will not help me. They say they do not sell in Australia and the eufy Amazon store is a reseller.
Essentially i got bounced around and ended up with no on supporting.
My issue was sporadic recording. There would be days on no recording (including a day when i actually needed it).
