  • I like the idea of these, but they have been around for a long time now and aren't really much cheaper.

    • Someone needs to build an open source (perhaps Arduino based) version that is just as simple to use, and at a fraction of the cost :)

  • Bargain compared to the BigW's $450 price tag.

  • does Lego have international Warranty?

  • Paid aud280 (delivered) exactly a year ago - came with a free Amazon soft teddy bear.
Assembled it and been sitting on my desk doing nothing…

Sounds like every single one of my DIY/Lego projects :P

  • If only my daughter was older than 6 months so I could justify buying this 'for her'.

    • Don't want to spoil yourself? :)

      • Not sure I can justify ~$250 for myself… But if I'm buying it for, that's no problem. 6 month olds love programming lego, right?

        • LOL yeah I bought this "for my son". Fortunately he's 17 and into computers.

  • It has been slightly cheaper in the past. I bought it at $219 USD ages ago http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/58192

  • Got one a year ago for $280 delivered from amazon, built something then sold it on ebay for $300

  • Nice. A couple of weeks ago, Amazon had these for $279 and would not ship to Australia.

Bought it on ebay yesterday for $219

lol zero feedback, I hope you paid with paypal.

      • yup, that's the only option anyway. Also through credit card. So through one or the other if it's a scam I should be able to get my money back.

  • Good price, but agree it is over-priced for what it is.
Lego could really develop and promote this if they gave it some focus and a more reasonable price.

    • they should've hopped onto the gangnam style fad and let people program the dance into this robot :P

that said, i think classic legos are somewhat expensive already , and adding on 'tech' stuff is going to blow affordability out of the water.

i mean seriously… as a working adult, i cant justify buying this over a parallel imported smart phone.
buying this for a kid, i'm not sure even if the kid could appreciate how bloody expensive this toy is. (and it's not an i-something or a 'droid.)

whoever buys this belongs to a very specific niche market i reckon.

  • The other thing to remember is it's been a few years since this version was released and maybe there's a nxt 3.0 next year. Mind you a lot of people were speculating the same thing last year.
