Johnnie Walker Double Black is on sale for $44.90 delivered from Dan Murphy's. It was previously selling for $56.90. No idea what it tastes like, but this is quite a bit cheaper than normal.

        If you like smoky whiskeys it's perfectly fine. It's been out in Europe for a while (often goes on special in Europe airports for those traveling - EUR30 or so for 1L).

    Got a free bottle last year when they were promoting it, not bad it is very smokey flavour though. I dont drink scotch much, prefer bourbon.

    For that price you would be far better off buying a cheaper single malt like the Glen Moray 12yo. It tastes 10x better.

      The flavours presented in the double black is very different from Glen Moray. So whilst you might feel Glen Moray is 10x better, its equivalent of saying a Shiraz is 10x better than a Cab Sav - ie. personal preference of taste.

      If you're after something smooth yet smokey, this is quite enjoyable. and for that price, its great. =)

    'Great' flavor just like a whiskey that someone accidentally dropped their cigarette in.
    Tipped 3/4 down the sink when I tried this rubbish from duty free a while back.
    Would have given it away but I would like to keep my friends.

    For what its worth I love Johnny Black regular.

    It's got a pretty decent flavor profile for making cocktails - especially if you really don't like bourbon. It's got the smoothness and the charcoal-lite taste that will make a great Manhattan or Old Fashioned. It's okay for sours as well, so pretty versatile addition to the cupboard at this price.

    For straight consumption, however, there is vastly better out there for your fifty bucks.
