The UK box set is better for a number of reasons, not just that its Region B (actually QoS is the only region-locked disc), but Casino Royale is uncut too.
The US release has the censored PG-13 version of Casino Royale.

Some advantages to the US version too though, like isolated scores on all movies. Just depends on what you're after I guess!

Curses, I have never been a fan of the Bond movies - have only seen a handful… but I'm tempted by this, as it's pretty much the same price as renting out each movie!

Besides GoldenEye and Moonraker for n64ostalgia I really cant say I would pay this for these movies.

Sometimes these old movies are best left non HD.
Funny, I couldn't stand GoldenEye, but I loved most of the others!

I purchased this on 16/11/12 when the price was closer to $120 AUD. I enquired about getting a refund for the new price difference with Amazon UK yesterday via live chat on their customer service page and I will now be getting refund of approx $23 back on my credit card. Amazon UK are definately No 1 for customer service in my book!

Been meaning to ask. Does this box set use the same blu-ray masters that have been available individual on blu-ray before this box set was released? Or have they been newly remastered for this box set?
answer: yes But not the collectors editions. Only the single disc editons.
