It’s amazing how much markup there is on baby seats and prams. Non-ISOFix model by the way.

After chatting with someone at baby bunting, they said only the baby seats from 0-4 has isofix, there isn’t any isofix for 1-8 years old so if you move to booster seats, you’ll be using the car seatbelt as the harness

These work will as an addition aid if you are worried about using just the seat belt. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/387076314494?chn=ps&_ul=AU&_trkp…

        • That’s pretty cool - but is this approved for use and safety by Australian law?

          • +2

@prankster: No idea mate, as mentioned I would use this as an addition not a substitute

        • +1

Not legal to use in Australia.

you’ll be using the car seatbelt as the harness

For this seat, yes. For extended harnessing 0-8 and 1-8 seats, that is not the case.

I think you are confusing "harness" with the way the seat is secured to the car. In which case, yes, any non-isofix seat (including any seat that is suitable for 4yo+) will use the car seatbelt to secure.

Fwiw, this seat is not really recommended, as its neither Extended Rear Facing (rear facing to 30 months), nor Extended Harnessing (harnessed to 8yo).

Ranger II Eclipse (0-4) would be a better option, or Emporer Eclipse if you want 0-8.

Edit: I believe this seat is suitable for hip dysplasia (but not something I have needed to look into myself).

    Just checked it on https://www.childcarseats.com.au/find-and-compare-child-car-…

    Pretty poor rating it seems

    • -1

Where does it say that, it says 2.9 with the rear and forward/booster 3.3 out of 5

    • Their rating system is poor, and 3.9 been the highest. There is no silver bullet lol

  • Anyone had any luck applying the promo code? Can’t hit the add button on safari, chrome or edge…?

    • +1

I believe that code only works if you have a Woolworths Rewards monthly subscription.

      • It used to work for everyone but maybe they are cracking down after getting people used to the 10% crack deal

      • I used it twice (diff big w accounts) last month and I don't have a subscription. If it stopped working, figures… Right after I find out about it 😂

    • Ok! Confirming you just need to be logged into your bigW account with an everyday rewards card linked! Then it works 🙃🙃🙃

      Big thanks op!

If you're looking for extended harnessing, the new Mother's Choice Focus ($279) has been rated quite well, just installed one today. Has Maxi Guard features at a $100 less price point

    • Link?

    • I have seen this but haven't seen safety ratings for it. Have you seen it rated ?

      • No it's quite new, but it's been quite highly recommended on the child restraints Facebook page. Sorry I meant other people's personal ratings, not official

  • How does this compare with the one sold in Kmart?

    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/safe-n-sound-guardian-ii-co…

    • Kmart is only for 0-4 but it's alright as a budget seat. This deal is for 0-8 but when they reach a certain height (around 4-6yo) it's meant to be used as a booster, so solely on the car seat belt itself, which isn't the safest option. If you are looking for harnessed past 4yo budget wise the new Mother's Choice Focus/pulse is pretty good, or splash out on the Maxi guard

  • I purchased an Infasecure direct from them in June. Returned it as I couldn’t get the belts to tighten adequately to secure the young one. They kept getting stuck. Returned it to them and got a refund.

    • I've had this on one infasecure seat and my graphene and maxi guard, so annoying
