I like how their site has a "Let's Ruin The Surprise On Christmas" ticker, indicating who just bought what.

Enjoy the quilt cover, Jodie Hill's loved ones; and here's hoping Elizabeth Talevska gives the Disney Fairies Apron and the Skil 90-Piece Drill & Drive Set to the right people.

"Let's Ruin The Surprise On Christmas" ticker

Is that what they actually call it? Because that would be awesome.

  • Plus $7.95 shipping.
I'm not sure how much shipping forwarders charge these days, but consider this food for thought.

    • Australia vs America really, depends which one is easier for warranty

Not sure about others, but I would prefer Amazon over Catch of the Day, warranty notwithstanding.
        shrug

  • Looks like it might be the WD My Passport 2TB: http://www.wdc.com/global/images/products/models/img3/300/wd…

  • I'm wondering why they would want to try and mask the fact that it's a WD drive.
WD is a reputable brand. I would think it'd be a selling point.

    • For the less technologically inclined, I'm sure 'mystery' has more allure than just another tech brand.
That, and they could just substitute whatever they want, should stock run out.

      • Sad but true…

        • Since (afaik) WD make the only 2.5" 2tb in the world there aren't really any substitutes

        • Ah, true.

        • Could it be a "re-manufactured" or repaired drive, and that's why they are concealing the brand name? So as not to give the impression it is a "new" WD drive, thereby giving you a reason to return it?

        • If its refurbished etc they have to state in description

I bought this on Amazon when it's having Black Friday sale. US$129.99+$6.4 shipping. It was a very popular product but Amazon website didn't crash. :-)
Plus, I trust Amazon much much more than COTD in terms of customer service.

  • Yeah the customer service at Amazon is pretty great for such a big company. Puts locals to shame.

    • I wish there was an Amazon Australia.

Not only are they cheap, their service is top notch. You rarely expect good service with cheap priced retailers. Only the rip off merchants offer good service, normally.

Amazon is the best place to shop. I just wish they were willing to ship more products to us.

You can rarely get video games from them, and when you can the shipping is an arm and a leg. They say it's because of region locking, but they have no qualms selling region locked movie discs to us. Plus, some games like PSP, PS3, DS, have no region locking but they still don't ship most of the time.

      • "I wish there was an Amazon Australia.
        Not only are they cheap"

the issue would be that if they were AU based, then likely they would obtain their stock from the same distributors that local retailers who do, which is where some of the largest price difference between here and overseas comes from…

Im fine to keep AustPost workers working hard, just need slightly less shipping restrictions from regular amazon ;)

Buy a Dickies jacket as well and put in the code DICKIES to get 30% off the entire cart contents - worked on mobile app

    • Eh.. can you buy a bunch of stuff with one dickies jacket (let's say the jacket was 5% of your total expenditure) and still get 30% off the whole lot?

      • Tried coupon out just to test, did not take 30% off whole cart. On the site it says it's for $10 off, but in cart it takes off $9.90, not to be picky over 10 cents, but it's odd to advertise the coupon differently.

        • That code work on my iphone! 33% off my order!
So I get it with a Jacket for $142.63
          Hooray!

  • Works - on app or mobile version. Hope it gets through and doesn't get abused (ozbargained too much) and they start rejecting it. Well done to the ndhobson for the pickup - if it does go through you deserve commendation from us all… and a Dickies jacket -_o

Back on the HDD - should be WD - with the cactus and desert in background. Last time they had a mystery drive it was a picture of a Sea and a Gate separately.

All Dickies Jackets will be gratefully received … At all Salvo's stores :)

    • All Dickies Jacket Catches have disappeared from the website.

      • Did anyone use that code to purchase a laptop?

  • Anyone receive their drive yet, or shipping notification?

    • I got my shipping notification about 30 minutes ago.

      • Yep same
