Dick Smith is currently offering a free $50 gift card for every $500 gift card purchased online (maximum of 5 in one order). Delivery was showing a flat $9.95 despite the "sitewide free delivery this weekend only" banner, but now appears to be removed, making it a blanket 9.09% off. If this deal is still valid when the free shipping offer ends, the savings will be as listed below:

I believe these gift cards can be used at any of the stores where you can use a Wish gift card despite being the Dick Smith labelling, however I last tried this some months ago, so it may have changed since then, if someone could confirm in the comments that would be great :)

Also note that I was able to get all the way to the confirm payment page using a Wish gift card I had already, so you can currently stack this discount on top of your discounted Wish gift cards too(!)

    FYI AFAIK if a company goes into liquidation the liquidator may not honour gift vouchers.

      WoW customers lost out, I know that for sure when they went under.

      But I dont think Dick Smith is going under… they've been bought out to someone.
      Mind you, still a riskier proposition if you arent planning on buying something big at the store straight away.

      You won't find official confirmation e.g. there are comments in the Groupon Caltex/Woolworths deal saying they had no problems using it at other stores despite the card implying it can only be used at servos. Just wanted to confirm that's still the case before people buy $500 cards only to find they can only be used at the one place.

        I was assured when I returned something and offered a DS gift card it was good at any woolworths group store. But if they're no longer owned by Woolworths they might eventually stop being accepted by wish gift cards so unless you intend spending it all at DS you might not be able to use it at other Woolworths stores.

          Yep maybe these cards are different I can't say, thus my warning in the op to not jump the gun if you don't plan to use it all at DSE until we know more :)

    Imagine DSE staff get 5% off now and another 5% off when they use the gift cards to buy physical goods again later. Just keep on stacking the 5% discounts…

      I didn't think you could get employee discounts on gift cards to combat this?

      But if possible they would get a hell of a good deal (especially when they "forget" stock out the back).

        as a woolworths employee i purchased 2x500 cards with my discount card. So I am able to purchase $1158 worth of goods for $950. Now to wait for a good laptop bargain

          its dicksmith - you go in a negotiate a bargain - ie easily go in and get 10% of a mac laptop which would stack your other discounts (and hopefully you paid for your cards of CC so you got points!)

          if you get the gift cards before the deal ends, better to use the gift cards to buy more gift cards again to stack the 5% once more.

    OMG best ever ! If you have a staff discount card it gives you an extra 5% off !!! so 5% buying card and anther 5% when using card :) with this offer and the credit card points this is over 20% off !!!! and i used some card i got 5% off so over 25% off. Thats like 35c off fuel ! wowho !

    can you get edr points online? not on gift card purchases i guess? never mind i found the answer . they dont accept edr since sept. what about westfield gift cards can you use them online? seems not online but i wonder if in store it works?.

      I was told by my local DSE staff that it is now not one of the Woolie group therefore don't assume DSE gift cards are accepted anywhere else.

    as soon as i receive it i plan to buy a wish card with it thus i hope its possible. dam some woolies staff tried to give me a hard time today saying i couldn't use my Westfield card to buy a wish card. I had to complaint to the manager as i said it wasn't a problem with the pos its just staff making their own rules since i had brought some stuff just earlier with my Westfield card with out a problem.

    called them today, they said they have a large back log of gift card orders (due to being ozbargained) but should ship all gift card orders today.
