  • Judging by the order number I take it I'm one of the first ever customers. Good luck with business, the branding on the email confirmation is the default Magento brand, might want to check that out..

Thanks for the valuable input. I worked with one of Australia's largest online retailers previously but this is a new venture of mine. I was formally in the import side and not a programmer so it'll take me a while to fix all the bugs on the site.

      • Wow good luck with that - it's a very difficult system to get a hold of

  • Is the adaptor also 6.1 compatible and free shipping?

    • Both of your questions have been answered already.

      "$8 Shipped"

      and

      "iOS 6.1 compatible"

      • Ohh does it…..where does it mention the ADAPTOR?? ….not cable

"Lightning Cable for Apple Devices (Latest, Newest Design from China) in Stock $8 Shipped"

  • edit : nevermind..

  • $4.19 delivered on eBay : http://bit.ly/TxMSA5

    • Hi Wisdomteeth
This is not the same as the cable I'm selling. The design in the eBay link is a previous generation lightning cable copy. I'm selling a newer higher quality design with a bulkier head and 6.1 compatible.

      • is the ADAPTOR…not cable, also the newer design?

        • Hi

I will post pictures of the newer Adaptor designs at a later date. Today's deal is the cable.

  • +1

how can we tell what generation a cable is?

  • Actually the latest gen cables aren't out yet.
You're selling an earlier copy. The "bulk" is not a feature.

This mob afaik are the ones leading the way with fake cables.

(Not saying these won't work, just misleading is all.)

    • Hi

The ones you presented in the link are the first gen ones which snapped easily if the user applied pressure because the lightning connector was thinner around the base.

      These are a newer design.

If you look at http://www.gousb.com.au/usb-cable.html, the second picture with the cable attached to my iPad 4, you can see there is extra bulk around the lightning connector so it doesn't snap as easily.

  • You might want to consider removing the following from your iPad 4 Wi-Fi description.

"and for LTE customers, Apple has also expanded the number of LTE frequencies supported by the iPad to include more carriers in Australia including Optus, Telstra and Vodafone."

If users are looking at a description of the Wi-Fi product, no need for LTE info.

    http://www.gousb.com.au/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/17…

    • Yes removed. I was going to add the LTE version, but they are not in stock yet from our HK suppliers. That was a generic description for both the WIFI and LTE versions.

  • I'm suspicious that these are immatations chips in the cable, not official ones. I'll bet my left nut that these will be disabled in updates.

    • they can do that?

      • +1

Also, with cables being so cheap compared to the official ones it wouldn't make that much of a difference anyway. I'm always breaking cables :-)

Give the OP a break guys. He already indicated: These are the latest design from his trusted Chinese suppliers - not latest design from Apple - and they are iOS 6.1 compatible.
His offer is on the Lightning cable, not an adaptor.
Not the latest gen cables? I have not heard of iphone5mod before and it seems to be just another oem manufacturer. Not aware of Apple advertising different generations of Lightning cable.
Imitation chips in the cable? What to expect for such cheaper alternative to Apple genuine cable? It is just licensing and $ for Apple. I have other genuine Apple cables that do not work with later Apple devices or when iOS is updated, such as Apple video cables - does Apple bother?

This is still a reasonable bargain for someone who needs a Lightning cable quickly and if the bulkier head is indeed better design - should be much faster local delivery with stocks in Australia. Cut him some slack for his new business - and support local business:-) Hopefully there will be better bargains going forth.

      Hi

Thanks for the kind words. Previously I worked with one of Australia's largest online retailers and I've dealt with a lot of customers suspicious of the quality of made in China imports. The reality is Apple is charging $29 for cables which they coerce Chinese factories to make for a few dollars each.

If you would like to get a fair price for Apple accessories then you can obviously get if from eBay or people like me. I hope that I can open a new channel for customers who don't want to get ripped off by Apple so at least it'll put downward price pressure on Apple's margins.

  • 4 ordered. Thanks.
