Anyone knows if this works with DJI Osmo Action 3? Some thread on Reddit says it works with 256gb and I think capacity shouldn't make a difference.

    • I'm also looking for something for Action 3, it's seems they support max 256GB

      • Did you buy via the JB deal the other week

There's a really weird issue with some of these cards where sequential write speed drops down to single digit MB/s and only comes back if you do a full format (zeroing the card first).

I won't be buying another one, no matter what the price.

    Ref: https://www.google.com/search?q=samsung+evo+512gb+bad+write+…

    • It seems like it's a small percentage of cards affected, but I'd for Sandisk for the same money (heck, after struggling to figure it out, I'd go Sandisk no matter what).

    • Full format does not zero anything or perform any TRIM. It is the same as a quick format + media scan.

      • It's referred to as a Full Format in linux when using mkfs.ntfs. Or you can dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/DISK bs=10M or something like that, then do a fast format.

Dunno what the Windows terminology is.

Edit: looks like using /P with format is the way to go on windows. Ref: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administrat…

        • I was referring to Windows full format. I did have issues with the older Samsung EVO cards. Haven't had issues with the newer white EVO cards.

        No probs.

I have a 512 one on my sd. works well but I do recommend 1T, which is post in another deal. 512GB is not enough for a sd.

  • Ordered the previous deal.. then I saw this. I just chatted with Amazon support for half an hour, they refused to give me the price difference because "on their screen it was $57.99", eventually got them to give me a free return label to refund my whole order. Just reordered with a USB-C cable to barely get $60.. I need the cable anyways.

    • Yeah just easier to return and order again, they don't seem willing to adjust orders for partial refunds or price match ever.

Anyone know of a good deal on 256GB microSD (SanDisk or Samsung), for handheld games?

  • The pro plus was ~$45, this year. That's probably a better card.

    • Was like $41 but from Amazon US. Let me get my time travel machine!

    Secret hack:

Officeworks Price Beat brings the price of the

    128GB Endurance $37.81
    256GB Endurance $74.96

Not a huge bargain, but I needed a 128GB Endurance RN!

EDIT: Shall attempt price beat on previous Endurance deal, $14 off the 128! $25+ 256GB

  • Just got the card yesterday, tested with H2testw and Crystaldiskmark w/ Ugreen sd card reader (max 90 MB/s), and it is genuine. Sometimes the sequential write speeds can drop from ~83 MB/s to 15-23 MB/s, not sure why. Random reads are at 8.4 MB/s, while random writes are at 3.4 MB/s.

Tried using this on my Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2025, and the sequential write speeds are maxing out at ~40 MB/s, and random read (4 MB/s) and write (850 kB/s) speeds are even worse.
