Great deal, I still have 9 months remaining on my 2-years-for-1 Wheels subscription that I signed up for in August 2011 though!

  • Can't seem to addon to my current subscription which ends in Sept 2013!

    • In the terms and conditions

"To redeem offer you must subscribe to Wheels magazine by calling 136 116 and quoting either D1211WH1 or D1211WH2; or on-line at www.magshop.com.au/wh."

I'm planning to call and have my current subscription extended by 2 years.

      • let us know if you have managed to extend your subscription

Successfully extended my subscription by calling 136116 and then pressed 1 on the keypad.
I quoted the first code and my subscription now expires in 2015

        • Woohoo….subscription extended until march 2016

  • Genuinely good deal - it's currently $139.95 on www.isubsrcibe.com.au

fwiw, on page 44 of the current issue, a 12 months subscription is $64.95
So not quite 2 years for the price of 1 year but still a great deal.

  • anyone used magshop before? Sounds like a great deal but read a few bad reviews online.

Subscribe to this if you want:

the Toyota/Subaru 86 appearing in every single issue in minute detail. No prize for guessing their car of the year - Toyota/Subaru have paid them enough for it.
    V8, V8, V8
    Ridiculously expensive cars.
Hardly any coverage of any 'real' cars (the ones we actually would consider buying). Pretty cursory when they do do it.

    • yeah as a car enthusiast, i just HATE reading about V8's lol.

There are actually many, many reviews of everyday cars that we'd consider buying. What you're referring to sounds more like Top Gear UK the tv show.

      • At least they're funny. I subscribed to Wheels last time this deal came up. I'm into cars, but not THAT into V8's. There was far, far too much on the 86 and very little on, say, the Falcon 4 cylinder turbo (an important car). Little on mid sized cars. Little on every day cars and when it's there it's very much just a mention that something has been released not a review or comparo.

        • Wheels mag is a bit of fun. I do agree, they tend to review a lot of dream cars and out of reach of the everyday aussie.

They do also do HEAPS of comparisons between FPV and HSV's and the like.

However, when i want some real detailed reviews for everyday cars, i always buy this mag.

          - it has to be the best mag for everyday cars, if that's what your after.

        • but that's the thing. I can't recall reading one issue in the last few years that wasn't also full of reviews of every-day cars. Sure it's not sensationalised as much as they're not that exciting, but both Wheels and Motor both have everyday cars in pretty much every single issue. Even the ones their staff are driving.
