how about going back to your last "deal" and answer some of the previous customers problems? http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/85140#comment-1136528

poor customer service, customers getting screwed, and reps not answering emails or pm's means no deal to me.

    • interesting info, thanks

    • Unlike other online stores, MC does have a telephone listed - does that also not work?

MemoryCity - your "Returns & Warranty" page (http://www.memorycity.com.au/content/9-return-warranty) doesn't list the procedure of getting a claim processed. You'll burn your bridges if it's perceived that you're not doing the right thing by OzBs.

That's why it says to "contact me directly if you have issue with your purchase or product."
So any problems don't become public :P

BS, you do the same thing on every post. You reply to the first few neg votes hoping they will revoke or you reply saying all your emails have been answered. Then you rack up about 30 positive votes or more and the replies and email support goes away.

I ordered one last time, received it in a few days.

If they are ignoring emails, perhaps call them (http://www.memorycity.com.au/contact-us). Even if they were on top of things, I'm not sure I would expect them to be following an Ozbargain thread two weeks down the track. I think that's a bit unrealistic, although they certainly should respond to emails.

      • +1

They dont have to follow a thread/post/deal, they can get email alerts for comments and PM's in the Settings. Not hard.

          Hi Trishool,

          Thank you for your information.
I have made changes to the settings and the next time an unread message is received, I should be receiving an email.

          Cheers

I can say that there are not the most responsive, but I got a couple of replacement cards with prepaid return envelopes. Also, at the end I was refunded because the 64gb micro sd cards were not working.

I recommend to stay away from Sandisk 64gb Class 10, because it seems they are pretty fragile. None of this is disclosed in the products specifications, but many of the issues are commented within sandisk forums.

      • Agreed, I've had problems with that product as well, however the service I've experienced has been great.

Some devices have a maximum limit too.
Most tables and any cameras have a 32gb limit

  • +1 to memory city.

I was just looking on ebay and a lot of these cards can be purchased a few dollars cheaper. Every time there is a new post from memory city everything seems to go up by $1. I waited two weeks for my purchase last time. Save yourself some money and get faster shipping over at ebay. Also you're more likely to get customer service from ebay sellers!

You just don't stop complaining do you? All this crap about getting no customer service when the rep has repeatedly suggested emailing of calling them to have issues resolved. Pick up the phone, and give them a ring, or find them on the online chat rather than complaining in a thread.

I've no had problems with memory city, my last order arrived the day after I ordered and everything is working as expected.

      • -2

I'm just letting people know their customer service is crap and there is much cheaper prices to be had. Ozbargain is about sharing your opinion and helping people find a bargain. This is not a bargain. You might of not had any problems but a lot of people have. Have you ever had to email or call them - probably not since you got your item quickly. You will understand what i mean when the time comes.

    Sandisk 64gb class 10 ultra micro sd - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SanDisk-ULTRA-64GB-micro-SD-SDXC-…

SanDisk 32GB Extreme HD Video SDHC Class 10 - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SanDisk-32GB-Ultra-SD-Card-class-…

    SanDisk 16GB Extreme Pro SDHC Class 10 - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SanDisk-16GB-Extreme-Pro-SD-95MB-…

This is just an example from Australian sellers with items located in Australia. If you get it from overseas it's even cheaper and the shipping time will be on par with memory cities shipping times. All of these were on the first page, i'm sure there is even cheaper deals from Aus sellers if you go through them all but there is to many cards to compare and i don't have the time. Disregard the middle one, but anyways, you get the idea.

    • But are those grey imports or Australian distro stock like what memory city sells?

  • hi,

need some advice. just got a Nikon d800. going to be shooting in RAW format (50-60MB per photo), need some help regarding what card should I be looking at?

    Cheers

    • +2

      Compact Flash:

Pro's - D800 can dump the buffer faster to CF than it can to the SD port, CF cards are sturdier, and allegedly last longer.

Con's - If you are are a sausaged fingered muppet you can actually bend the CF card pins if you are not careful (CF card slots are designed badly) leading to an expensive repair. Some report that current firmware does not support all CF cards.

      SD:

Pros: Half the price of CF cards.

Cons: Slower write times in camera.

You can find a good comparison here http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/camera_wb_multi_page.asp?ci…

Either way you'll want the Extreme Pro

      • thanks noodles

        • Hi vietbargain,

I will agree with spacenoodle on the CF cards.

          Cheers

    • I purchased this one, SanDisk 64GB Extreme Pro SDHC Class 10 - $164.95, for my Nikon D3200, and I love it, or to be secure get two x 32GB, just in case you lost or broken.

And I got my card within a week. VERY GOOD SERVICE ALWAYS GO WITH MEMORYCITY, NOT OTHER EBAY SELLER…
