        or worse, a subscription.

AI DD® refers to ‘Artificial Intelligence' technology that has been applied to control the machines washing motions via the Direct Drive Motor. By using AI technology and referencing a database of wash motions the machine assesses the load characteristics and selects the best option for a thorough clean with reduced clothing wear*.

you won't be washing without paying a subscription fee.

And they'd say "you have to comfertable not owning your washing machines"

        • Rubbish. This is just marketing fluff, they’ve had so-called “ai” machines for years now. There is no subscription fee lol.

@Mike Nolan: Used to be called "fuzzy logic" 20 yeas ago but same thing

        • How do you get VIP membership with LG? Do you have a code?

        • Any chance you could explain how?

  • Can anyone tell me how the 'series' work? This says pre-order for a series 6, but there's series 10 on the store? Are the series not in order?

Is the pre-order a stock thing only and not a new release product?

Is 'series' a features thing not an age thing? So a new series 6 fits between the others?

    I'm so confused lol

    • +5

Yes, series is a features thing, not an age thing - the series numbers of each model indicate the features and capabilities of these appliances. The higher the number the higher the purchase price but there are more features and benefits. Then within each series they periodically update the models, with this being a new release model in the Series 6 range. A few brands have similar appliance naming schemes, like Bosch.

      • amazing, thanks for the solid response.

Thanks op.. After a bit of reading i pull the trigger on the 6.. because the 6 have the auto dispenser thing and the 9 dont have. After joining the “MyLG” member i found the $50 voucher in my account and during check out i can choose $100 “trade in” delivery option since i have an old
LG washer. bring total to $849

Thanks to you and OP, I managed to get a similar deal as well.

However for those who are jumping on this deal, I would like to add that if you have a dryer sitting on top of your old washing machine (not the stacking system), LG online brand store rep confirmed with me that the logistics people WILL NOT HELP to carry it down in order to take away your old washer. Not even if you offer to pay extra because they have no ability to receive payment. In fact, when I ordered this product there wasn't any option for installation. I had thought it is part of the service but it is not. The store rep was very helpful to organise this for me. Otherwise, the logistic people was going to take old washer and just drop the new one at the door. If you have not make this arrangement, I suggest you call in to confirm.

Also there has been a delay to the inventory arriving into their 3rd party logistics warehouse. It is now forecasted to arrive on the 24th so delivery is no longer starting from the 14th as advertised. I was told on inventory arrival, the delivery company has about 14 working days to pick it up and then up to 5 working days time window to deliver to you.

When I asked which delivery company LG uses, the rep told me it is DHL. I was surprised tha they do this now. So that makes perfect sense with the installation and all. Anyway hooking up a washer should be straight forward provided all the fittings are compatible.

      • Thank you for the info.

        • I am thinking to cancel the order because I have a dryer sitting on top of the old washer. Getting an extra pair of hands (handyman, etc) would neutralise all of the cost savings and I might as well get a better model than this. I do have friends who may be willing to help but I don't want to bother my friend on a working day or to have a friend help me over the weekend prior to the delivery and another round to put it back up.

I hate to pay more really but I can't remove the dryer by myself haha… my missus is not going to help let alone agreeing to have the dryer temporarily positioned elsewhere in the house.

          • @Davesday: mine is on the floor so it will be just a lot of push and pull.. only worry about the tubing, but a trip to burning would take care of that.

Have you try air tasker for $50?

edit: oh to put it back as well.. hmmm not sure how your set up is, but back in the past i just get a height adjustable table and pust the dryer across

            • @huu: Yeah I factored in putting back as well and that alone will neutralise the $100 savings if not more (from trading in the old washer). But I like your idea of using a height adjustable table!

  • Has anyone got their machine dispatched/shipped?
It was supposed to start shipping on 14/10/2024.
I just reached out to LG, and they said that they are not having any in stock, but for those who already placed an order, it will be a first-come, first-served basis.
I've asked as I have an order from 02/10/2024 any idea when I will get it? They said that they don't have any information and to wait for SMS from the delivery company :-o
