With the Tab S10 Range, they got rid of the 11" model and now all come with Mediatek Dimensity 9300+ Chipset.

IMO, if you own a Tab S9, there's no reason to upgrade.

    • +2

Yes I agree, probably that's why there is no unpacked event this time. Samsung just quietly launched them in other regions.
From my perspective the only upgrade that matters is the anti reflective coating.

    • +5

I mean, who actually needs to upgrade every year anyway?

      • Salary sacrifice can make it basically free or create a small profit

There was for me, a game i play was noticeably laggy with the tab s9, but imo the tab S10 series is not the route to go especially with no 11" version.
I however went for an ipad pro cause i didnt want 12" and there isnt any other options without importing oneplus pad 2 from china.

        What game was that ?

    • Surprised that omitted the 11" model, i would have thought that is a popular size for portability.

      • I'm assuming Samsung got rid of the Flagship Tab S 11" model, so they can shift customers over to A Series (ie. A9+) or FE Series (ie. S9 FE).

  • Thanks

Still rocking hard with Tab S7 Plus here.

@cloudie "Still rocking hard with Tab S7 Plus here."

Me too. Looks and performs as good as when I first unboxed it in 2021.
Hell, it even survived a house fire in February last year where in I lost virtually everything. The USB charge port was affected by water from the fire hoses and wouldn't allow charging. The case and the interior is water resistant and after drying out the USB port completely, the device re-charges exactly as before. The build quality and performance proved the value of the buy in price for this highly performing device.
I have been keeping an eye out for a replacement should my S7+ die and go to "device heaven" but to date this device performs so well. It is daily as small pc with an attached keyboard/case/stand.

  • I just got an S8 a couple of weeks ago from the deal posted here, I need a small LCD screen tab as sometimes I keep the screen on continuously for 8 hours (displaying calendar and cams), iPad mini is a good option but the new version is coming soon and does not have a high refresh rate and is expected to be expensive.

Sadly, apart from Apple and Lenovo, no one cares about making small form factors and powerful tablets anymore.

Hoping for ATL on Tab s9+.

    Can't believe it's already on the 10.

I use a Galaxy Tab S 10.4, the OG one. 1440p AMOLED screen, stereo speakers, Multi window, definitely ahead of the pack when it was first released.

Me too! Its starting to show it's age though!

      • Are you on stock firmware? How's the battery life and performance?

I'm in Cyanogen 14 or something, modded years and years ago…

The gold plastic has become brittle near the headphone jack after I dropped it 😔

The battery lasts about 4-5 continuous hours of I'm watching a video. Performance wise, some apps that require streaming keep crash randomly (e.g. prime video)

        • I'm still stock firmware. Have only the mandatory apps other than some streaming apps i.e. Disney+, Prime etc. They work perfectly. My power button is gone, so need use a pin to restart if it ever turns off. Overall performance & battery is still going strong I would say.

    • My Tab S2 8" won't let me run certain apps anymore so bought a Tab S9+. Beautiful devices.

  • +1

Nah pass still going strong with the samsung galaxy tab s9 ultra 5g

  • Dimensity 9300 is a bit disappointing for a high end tablet when the 9400 is due for release imminently. Early indications show a significant performance bump.

    Still rocking Galaxy Tab A7

My s6 tab for $750 in 2019 is still going strong, with its super AMOLED screen.

Series 6 didnt have all the various versions like plus and ultra so they pit all good stuff in one tablet and competitive price.

Now days Samsung have too many variations trying to expand margin on incremental upgrades.

I do like the Ultra vesion but over $2k is out of my price range

    • Yep same for me. We have two S6 Tab's and they haven't missed a beat! Unless it breaks or stops working there is no need to upgrade.

    • sometimes Samsung does drop it (s9 Ultra) to about $1.2k with trade in (wifi 256gb)

  • +2

My Tab S4 which was free from optus still going strong even if the battery is only about 70% of original capacity

    • Likewise…….and my dally device for morning coffee and evening browsing! No issues at all other than of course doesn't get updates.

Prices starting at $1799 according to Harvey Norman.

Geez these things are getting expensive. I recall paying $3xx for the Tab S on an ozbargain sale while it was still the latest and greatest.

From what I can tell you gain in the new model.
    Longer support 7 Android versions
    Anti reflective screen
MTK chip (supposedly 1/3rd cheaper to produce so savings should be passed on to consumers in time)

So the real deal will come in the future. I expect these things to get cheaper than the S9 series. I personally won’t buy one because i don’t like big tablets.

I’ll wait for a sale for the new Y700, they come down to around $400 (judging by previous sales on the 8 gen 1 model. Also they have the 8 gen 3 chip instead of MTK. I am in the market for a new tablet now but I can wait. Lol

    • Similar RRP to S9 series it seems

  • Y my S8 lte is still brilliant .
