a clock where you have to pay $10 extra for the numbers (or wall dots) ?
who's going to buy the hands and not the dots or numbers to be able to read it?

unusual 'deal' imo. free shipping stops me from negging, because it doesnt sound bad… but the extra $10 for the numbers or dots wall stickers rubs me up the wrong way, sorry.

    • You'll probably get used to reading the time without the need for dots on the wall, i wouldn't get them anyway.

@bford85, Do you just distribute the clocks or make them? i actually quite like the idea for the clock, havn't seen one before, however from watching the video the base looks a bit flimsy plastic? I would like it if it was on a solid wood base, also make the base bigger like a standard wall clock except still don't have numbers/dots on it. Just a suggestion and something to either do or communicate with the company?

      • I just distribute the clocks. They are made by Studio Ve in Israel. The plastic base is quite sturdy (I can't seem to break it by hand) and there are larger variants coming soon that I am trying to secure some stock on.

I think your missing the point of the clock. The idea is to present time in a refreshing and unusual way. The dots are offered as an option not a necessity. If you try you can easily read the time without the dots. There are many wristwatches for example that have blank faces.

  • Thanks for the feedback UFO. The idea behind the clock is to get away from normal everyday time telling. There are also small indents on the clock base which indicate 3, 6, 9, and 12. I'll keep it in mind though!

  • I backed the kickstarter project which Studio Ve did. Good to see the products getting about. Unfortunately I'm in a rental and didn't want to put any tape or nails into the wall so my clocks in storage for now, but it was certainly nice.

Did have one issue where the two hands were too close which caused them to get stuck at certain times in the day and thus lose time. When trying to bend the hands a bit to separate them a bit more(at Studio Ve's suggestion) one hand snapped at the base. They were good enough to send a new hand out free of charge.

Anyway, nice clocks and hopefully the issue I had is a thing of the past. Regarding comments above, not having hands isn't that big an issue in my eyes, You quickly learn where the hour hand is in relation to everything. We had a clock without numbers in the kitchen when I was younger. You could always just write them on with a permanent marker anyway. Also the plastic base isn't flimsy and keeps the wight down too I imagine.

    • Hi Smigit, I've had a number of clocks running for a few days now so I'm fairly certain that issue has been rectified in the production models.

Having said that, any problems with products bought from my site will be rectified immediately, no questions asked.

      Thanks for your vote!

      • No worries

And yeah I'm sure it's resolved now. They were aware of it at the time, which was probably about six months ago or so ago.

  • +1 cool product, seems like an OK price.

  • Yeah I'll give a +1 just because it is cool and $10 off can't be laughed at. I think I paid $20 for a clock from Kmart that sounds like a ticking time bomb so…

  • hi rep, sydney - do you know how quick shipping is? thank you! great product!

    • Hi there,

Delivery to Sydney would be next business day at best however allow 1-3 days. I work across the road from a post office so dispatch orders almost immediately.

  • I think this was a kickstarter project.

  • My brother had a clock like this (no idea where it came from) and it was actually useless at keeping time. A standard clock movement isn't strong enough to support twisting hands it seems. The hands would pull on each other, either pulling clock fast or slow, and no it didn't average out to be right.
Beautiful wall ornament, but useless clock. Just my 2c

    • Perhaps this was a different product. I've got one in my office that I set about 3 days ago and the time is still accurate.

  • Oooooh….I really want one…..what is it again??

  • wow … its a great idea
not too long till the chinese reverse engineer this great idea and start selling for 99 cents
    :(

    • That's why you have to act quickly whilst an idea is fresh :)

Not very nice to neg on this idea but r3d3mption maybe right.
You need a clock mechanism, a modded (round and slightly bended forward) hour and minute clock hands, and a piece of thin plastic film (maybe paper will do?). Hardest part is to cut the plastic film into the right shape and size so it won't tangle when the clock hands move.

  • cool! just ordered two. How fast is the shipping. I actually do not want them so fast~~~~

    • Shipping is via Aus post parcel so generally next business day for Sydney Metro and 1-3 days elsewhere. However feel free to leave a note with your order requesting a dispatch date.

  • Haven't seen one of these before - quite a neat design!
In case you're thinking of buying this as a gift - just be aware that clocks are considered bad luck for some chinese.
