I spent the hour since your post agonising on whether or not to buy it since I have so many similar headphones from Ozbargain(including the HD 555). Then I realised there was a whole list of headphones from your link.
So I just impulsively bought the RS 180 Wireless headphones because they seemed different enough, that I didn't need to use my brain any more. Good job.
Why doesn't UK amazon stock the 555?
The 555 can be upgraded to the 595 with a simple procedure. I suspect it could be the same with the 598 series?

Great headphones but am find then a bit lacking in sub-bass but sound stage a reproduction of sound is a winner! Plus they feel like two fluffy clouds on your ears!
A few other semi cons are they are open so forget using them outside the house or late at nigh next to the mrs, the default cable is massive 3m long and terminates in a 6.3mm jack although an adapter is included it makes the jack quite cumbersome. You can however get a custom cable for about $30. Au to any length and 3.5 termination like I have.
Jazz classical movies easy or long periods of listening you can't go wrong.

Who says you cant wear them outside? I wear my 555's on the train (in winter/autumn) and out and about. The cord is very long but i coiled mine up like a rope and tied it with some cable ties. The headband is broken so i dont mind as much if i lose/break them rather than brand new ones. I also have the step down from this the 558 and the jack adapter is about 2" long, so its not that bad. Not trying to shit on your opinion just offering a different one.
Youre dead right about them being comfortable, feels like a pillow on your ears.
It's an open headphone. You can wear it outside without a doubt..but you might need to turn your volume up by a lot to cancel out noise, also people can hear what you are listening when those volume are turned up.
I think nerobass meant you'll also end up disturbing people on the bus and train, since the sound leaks so much. No one wants to be that guy.

how it sound, compare to AD900? I love my AD900, however, it uncomfortable on my ear. Also heard some people mention the plastic quality of the phone is not really good. It tend to break easily :| true?
