  • I didn't get the email but it may still be targeted. My eBay Plus expired ~1 month ago on this account.

    • +1

Are you and Shopback getting divorced?

      • +7

Nah, I'm using reverse psychology in an attempt to manipulate them into giving us better deals.

    • Worked for me. My eBay plus expired on 1/10. Didn't get the email but I just signed up using the link for $10/year.

  • +3

Same, no email but using OPS link was able to get it for $10

  • No email but sign up link worked for me, thank you!

  • +11

Doesn't work for me. Showing $49

  • -4

I paid $20, should I cancel and get a refund

    • +10

In my experience, eBay does not provide refunds for membership fees. I intended to use eBay Plus for just one month, but I accidentally signed up for the annual plan. I contacted eBay right away, but they informed me that they couldn't refund the membership once it was charged. After multiple calls where they maintained this stance, I ultimately requested a chargeback through my bank and successfully received the refund.

      • +1

Good, (profanity) eBay and the horse it rode in on.

      • +1

Interestingly my membership auto renewed and i wanted to cancel coz tightening the purse strings… they said there was a 14 day cooldown as to get a refund when contacting ebay support chat. Not sure if that applied to new sign ups or just renewals, but I expect it should be same same.

  • Might only be working for those who recent membership expired?

Link not working for me, havent had Plus for a while now

I still offered $49 rate but $5 monthly voucher

    • nah mine expired 2 days ago and still shows the full $49 price for me.

    • +2

I did this last year, had to cancel and wait for it to expire then wait a couple of weeks after that before the signup deal worked.

I’m currently waiting for mine to expire on 19 Nov so I hope they don’t pull the deal by then.

    • Not recently expired for me, mine ended in April. Got this yesterday ($10).

I tend to switch between accounts, as needed / to take up offers like this.

I do have an alt account expiring on the 28th Oct

    • Nope, mine expired 2 weeks ago. Still showing $49 for me.

  • Cheers OP :)

  • My eBay plus expires mid November. Worth cancelling to see if this works?

    • +2

Mine expires the 31 October, and have already cancelled and the link doesn't work. I guess you need an expired membership to at least try

      • Same and same. It says It is good to see you! WTF this?

        • +5

Because it's logging you into your already existing membership. When you cancel, it doesn't mean the membership is cancelled right away, it just means you will keep your benefits until the end date and not get charged for a renewal

          • @pichxlonco: You are right. Membership actually ends at the end of November.

      • Thanks for taking one for the team. Mine also expires 31st October and i did the fake cancel to get the $30 renewal voucher. I thought it would be a gamble completely cancelling as we don’t know who’s being targeted.

        • +3

I cancelled (one of mine) with a 28th Oct end date, will keep an eye on this, if it starts working & report back

          • @nismo: Just checked and eBay Plus now has an end date of 31st Oct… weird. reminder set to come back in 2 days…

            • @nismo: Ok Plus account has expired and now showing $49 today :(

Will keep an eye on it

        • My membership expires 5 Nov and this year I opted to cancel, and reject the $30 voucher plead. Voucher has a 30 day expiry so essentially forcing you to spend to "save". Fine if you buy from eBay regularly but I use Amazon way more often.

I'll renew for $10 if I can get it..

          • @pressPlay: I just got my $30 voucher and it actually has a 3 year expiry and no minimum spend.

      • Same I cancelled not renewing. I think the only way is create a new account and try the link with a different email

        • Not necessarily. In the past, after my membership expired, i have been able to resubscribe at this price. Just got to wait and see

          • @pichxlonco: I had bad experiences before, clicking on $1 banner or link then they still charged $49 despite everything $1 then they flat out deny any refund

Keep checking, as others report it working after a couple of weeks (last year).

  • Worked :)

  • Thanks OP.Linked worked for me

  • Thanks OP. Worked for me as a new member

  • No email and unfortunately link not working for me. It shows $49 and mine expired July.

  • mine also expired about a month ago and it doesnt work for me, so i dont think its "when" it expired alone that determines if u get this offer..

  • Finally works for me, thanks OP

  • +3

    Is it worth having?

    • Depends :-)

I got few things to buy this year so $10 could save some with that.

    • +2

my experience is it's worth for $10/year, but not for $50. few points i've learnt
      - the item should be part of 'ebay plus' list/badge. Most of 2nd hand sellers don't have this (eg shoes/boots)
      - if the seller also have 'ebay plus', then its good
      - check your postcode before enrolling as it may not be covered in free delivery
      - Returning goods is good only if the seller accepts returns (again lot of 2nd hand stuff has no returns accepted)

    • +1

Only worth it if it's $1 or $5 for first year. Cancel right away

I plan to only subscribe the month during black Friday if I can't get the deal

    • I’ve saved more through selling promotions than discounts on buying. According to my membership page I’ve saved $251 this year, so definitely worth the $10 membership fee I paid. Having said that will admit it did alter my shopping habits as I now tend to favour Plus listings in order to maximise benefits, as opposed to previous when it was just the cheapest price.

  • thanks op. It works for me. I cancelled ebay plus since May.

  • Didnt get email but worked. Tried this few days ago and it didn’t.. may be they relaxed the rules.

  • +3

Nope. Got email for joining at $10, still showing $49 upon sign up portal. Typical ebay

    • +1

      +1, stupid system

  • Work for me. Thanks OP

  • Can anyone see when this expires?

My wife's membership expires mid Dec so trying to decide if I do mine now or not…

  • Thanks. Worked this time.

  • Not working

  • Offer doesnt apply to me. Cancelled my membership yesterday.

  • Got the first email offer. Couldn't get the deal. Contacted eBay. They said it was mistakenly sent to me and I couldn't get it. I asked if a 'whoops' email would be sent. They offered me $50 PayPal credit (whatever that is and the T&C's attached) if I paid the $49 membership. Tried today, the $10 offer works

If this is the support when trying to sign up - imagine if a sell or a buy goes wrong. 🤔

    • If this is the support when trying to sign up - imagine if a sell or a buy goes wrong.

Wait, you mean you can actually get support for failed sales? Who’da thunk it?

  • Worked for me thanks 👍

  • Worked on my end, Plus membership expired early October.

  • The link worked for me. Never been a Plus member before. Clicked on the 'Sign up link', not 'Go to Deal'.

  • Sweet, worked for me too now.

  • Worked

  • +1

Got my own email with a $10 membership offer and it charged me $49. I've had to email support with a screenshot of the email. Looks like their system is woeful.

    • +1, got email but charging $49

      • After talking to support apparently I got the offer via email in error and they are offering me a $50 PayPal credit.

        • I got the email and it's showing $49 as well, they said they would contact me after looking into it. How did you get the $50 Paypal credit?

          • +2

@Itsjackson: I told them I got charged $49 so they asked for screenshots of the email which I forwarded to their support. They then confirmed their error and said I would get a $50 PayPal credit. Have not received the credit yet though.

            • @Noppy: wow, so that means join ebay plus for free

              • @puan123: Looks like it. Got my PayPal voucher for $50 today and my eBay account says I'm an Ebayplus member with a next payment on the 25th of October.

  • This worked for me thanks. Didn't get the email and my membership expired in August.

  • I got my own email ages ago when it happened but neither that or the link here work for me after canceling my ebay plus membership just today. I'll probably contact ebay support again saying i got the email but i'll wait a couple days so it doesnt seem sus 😂

  • It worked for me even though I didn’t receive an email.

  • -1

Watch out showed $10 year then on submit had free month trial then charged every month chatted on ebay for about an hour to get cancelled catch 22 ?

  • +3

lol I got the email but still trying to charge $49. Glad it works for some, eBay never fail to impress :D

  • +1

i've just tried it but got the offer for $49.95

  • I created a new eBay account and it didn't work :(

  • Worked this time. Thanks!

  • Worked for me this time too, cheers OP

  • +1

My subscription is ending on the 31st of October. I canceled it to get the $10 offer, but I'm still seeing the full price. I talked to their agent and they said I should pay $49 and they'll credit me $39.

  • Didn't work.. dang it!
I'm seeing $49 on my Ebay account.

  • +1

When I renewed last year I had to wait around maybe 14 days after my account expired to get offered the $4.95 renewal.

  • The link does not work for me. Still $49 :(

  • Thanks Op, been waiting for a ten bucks deal that worked, this did 👍

  • Thanks for the heads up! Link worked for me. Glad I didn't go with the previous $19 offer

  • Is it worth waiting for a better deal? The past two years I signed up to pay $49, get a $50 gift card. Or do these no longer exist and I should just pay the $10.

  • I have had it a few times, paying like $10, or getting more gift cards than I paid in membership fees. I'm not convinced it's worth anywhere near $49. I was offered the $30 gift card, but the minimum spend and timeframe for using it don't work for me.

Worth keeping in mind that for "big deals", you can always sign up for just 1 month.

    • +1

      It's only worth $1

  • Thanks, worked for me after my previous membership expired on the 9th.

  • +1

Shockingly received a call from eBay customer support after escalating my case (legitimately received the email and it still wants to charge $49) Was told to go ahead and make the purchase and they would put $50 onto my Paypal. Solid result if they actually do it haha.

    • They won't. They will charge you $49

      • …they won't what? They've told me they will charge me the $49 lol

        • If you think they will credit you you might be dreaming they did that to me. Charged fully never refunded or credit time back

          • @neonlight:

Solid result if they actually do it haha.

As I said above I will be exactly 0% surprised if they do not credit my PayPal haha. But I do have it in writing in an email so I'm sure a dispute with PayPal / Bank will fall my way, will depend on whether I can be bothered following it up lol

  • +2

    Worked . Thanks OP.
    Sorted for 1 year atleast.

cancelled the membership straightaway. Dont trust my memory to remind me to cancel it after 1 year.

  • +1

Still not working for me, so I reached out to eBay live chat who escalated it, and I eventually received this reply by email:

Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for the inconvenience and regret that this offer was sent to you by mistake.

If you’d still like to join eBay Plus at the regular annual rate of $49, we’ll provide a $50 credit to your eBay account.

Does anyone know exactly what the “$50 credit” means? Is it a voucher to spend on a purchase, or actual credit (like sale credit) that I can withdraw into my bank account? I could reply to the email to ask, but it’ll probably take another five days for a response.

    • +2

I asked and they said it's withdrawn to your bank as a payment. So much better than a voucher/code

      • +1

        Awesome, thanks.
