Thanks, I'll keep looking. Want it to double as a work monitor and having a single USB-C connection for power and video is life changing!

  • I am considering upgrading my current monitor. Would this be a substantial improvement over my current LG?
    https://www.lg.com/au/monitors/ultrafine-uhd-4k-5k/32ul750-w…
I don't play competitive online games so maxing out fps isn't really a priority.
Better to go for Mini-LED or OLED rather than a slightly better IPS panel?
The monitor is primarily used for work so I'm thinking Mini-LED might be a better fit.

    • Both mini-led and OLED would be superior to this one.
This is a budget gaming monitor with decent specs.

  • This is a 2.5 year old monitor so people complaining about lack of USB C ports and newer display protocols, just wait for the new refreshed model in 2025.

  • I've got Dell credit to spend and am looking at buying this but don't need another monitor. Anyone interested in this buying this from me for $495? Pickup location Gold Coast.

Got one of these delivered yesterday after deciding to give it a try.

The Dell needs the Dell Display Manager and Driver installed.
When I first tested HDR it lagged and made my RTX4070TI work overtime.
On HDR 4070ti fans was working overdrive and GPU was hitting 100%.
Davinci Resolve was lagging and Hitman 3 was unplayable.
Games were choppy and I freaked out thinking I had faulty panel.

As soon as I installed Driver and DDM everything was fine until the colours were terrible when I enabled Smart HDR then disabled HDR but left HDR colour mode selected which made colours look terrible. Fixed by disabling Color HDR Mode when HDR was off.

The FPS was really good with DLSS Frame Generation, Ray Tracking Off and High Settings. Hits 110FPS easy on Hitman 3
The contrast ratio and blacks are pretty bad but just switch to DCI-P3 when watching a movie and you should be fine.

Games look average in Standard and Creator Mode but Game 1-3 looks pretty good. If your dark scenes are too dark there are three layers of black

Reflections of light behind the monitor are pretty bad and makes blacks look grey, kinda annoying in well lit rooms. Viewing angles are not great but at night it's fine

I turned brightness down to 15% cause this thing is super bright.

Overall for $520 I can't expect too much more from this monitor.

I didn't want to pay $950 for a 60Hz Ultrasharp just to get 2000:1 IPS Black or $1500 for a QD OLED with Text Clarity Issues and potential burn in, not to mention putting a hole in your pocket and it's nice to know if I want to game on this monitor I can (even though I use my monitor for 90% productivity)
