  • Thanks for sharing this code. Interestingly, it works with www.abebooks.com but not www.abebooks.co.uk . Without the discount it is slightly cheaper (around 2.7%) to purchase books from UK sellers and the Book Depository (selling via Abe) from the UK version of the site. I haven't tested the code with the German or French versions of Abe (slightly cheaper when purchasing from sellers in countries where the currency is Euros).

  • Abebooks has been a hit and miss for me… sometimes the books arrive in time and sometimes they take forever. I'd rather buy from Book Depository for the peace of mind since you're dealing with them and not some third party seller.

    • Yeah, but for second hand books that are very hard to find, it's fantastic.

    • Books I've bought with Abebooks via Book Depository have always been shipped by Book Depos. & no slower than when going direct, but cheaper.

  • I too have occasionally have had problems with books purchased 2ndhand on Abe or Amazon marketplaces never arriving :( I am currently waiting for 2 2nd hand books I purchased 35 days ago. And if buying boxed sets (eg tarot cards with a book) contact the seller first to verify that all items are present. If the set is out of print and super cheap it is likely incomplete.

But I have had 100% success with the Depository & Amazon US delivering on time and always arriving. About 25% of the stock carried by Book Depository is available on Abe.co.uk at a cheaper price even taking into account exhancge rates (0.5% for me with the incredibly useful 28Degrees card - it must have saved me $75 at least by now compared to the extortionistic 3% rate charged by normal banks).
