… "For a platinum card the rate of accrual is low. You will only earn 1.50 points per $1 spent on eligible purchases with the American Express and 0.65 points per $1 spent on eligible purchases with the Visa card."

Just a reminder of the Qantas Credit Union offer.. 30k points over 5 months, free for the first year..

  • So, for the equivalent on ~$240 ($250 woolies gift card is 36,250 FF points) you can get a CC with a $290 annual fee and 19.99% interest on purchases?

Does not sound like much of a bargain to me

edit: and you don't get points for applying, you get it when you make a purchase on both cards

Worth writing a comment but not actually clicking the button?

Misleading description: Card is not free but $290pa therefore the points are not free!
    No bargain

    • Neg revoked as title updated - still not much of a bargain though

  • Fair call… it's not a bargain, but if you're into frequent flyers and use a credit card like i do. It's pretty good.

    • While $290 for 35,000 QFF points isn't fantastic value, it's not bad value because it comes to just over $0.008/point… but it will depend what you redeem.

I personally wouldn't apply for this card right now. Offers come and go, and right now the best card to get is the Qantas CU one Vortex99 linked above.
