I liked him when he put his wealth towards innovative things like SpaceX and Tesla and he wasn't in the spotlight.
But then his personality became more public over time. He basically destroyed twitter and now he's one of Trump's best buddies apparently.

I've probably said I hate trump, or at least despise. But a healthier way of looking at it is that the man is utterly lacking in the qualities we want in a political leader.

The man is by all accounts charming in person, like most politicians. If he was your uncle running a real-estate agency, you'd tolerate him. If I was in the US, and got sacked due to his DOGE actions, I probably wouldn't like him purely for being sacked, but what he is doing over there, just makes me think about how many inefficient government employees there appear to be in Australia.

If his success was a one-off, you could easily make such a put-down without being accused of envy.
But no, the guy did the impossible more than once. It is like when a scientist like Newton or Einstein makes a huge breakthrough, you can say they got lucky. And both of them were in the right place at the right time. But then they do it again and again. And an honest person, even if he did dislike some personal qualites ( with good reason in Newton's case) would have to admit grudging admiration.
