  • Cheaper in Harvey Norman, http://www.harveynorman.com.au/fitbit-one-wireless-activity-…

EDIT - Ignore me, cannot read :)

    • Their naming system makes things slightly confusing I think. The ultra has been discontinued and replaced by the One and the Zip. Not sure what their plan is going forward, maybe the one two? or the new one? That has a nice ring to it ;)

  • I don't think these lifestyle/fitness trackers [fitbit, nikefuel band, jawbone up ] have quite got to great 'solution' yet. I have been eyeing them off thinking about one - but I really want one that incorporates other sports eg cycling rather then mainly running. I'd love to hear from any OzBargainers using these sorts of items.
The Fitbit One is consistently rated very well and this is a good price for one… so its a plus from me.

    • I have a few friends who have the Ultra and they love them, like to a weird degree… Don't know anyone who has the One yet, but the main difference is the bluetooth so you can connect directly to a smartphone for uploads.

On the other hand since the Rep is here … under $100 and I'd be happy to try it out.

I almost said "it's only a $5 difference" shakes head at self

I would have said it right back to you… :) In essence these are just very expensive pedometers… I'd feel silly spending so much on one, and 99 -> 101 is a big spending gap for me physiologically.

        • I know right, I think I got to the apostrophe and was like wait a minute…

        • physiologically? ;)

        • Yeah was wondering why no one had picked it up yet .. clicked on the first spell check solution to a poorly typed. "psychologically".

..meanwhile look at those plus votes the crowds going wild for a $99 fitbit one.

        • Let me ask you this are you a fan of us on facebook?

        • Sorry No.
I don't facebook.. and actually I went to look at your site [I did buy a late night iPad Keyboard a while back -but who remembers how that was done] and thought I might register to get future special notifications .. but it seems facebook is required [I must have just paypal'd last time - so thats why I didn't get this notice as well]… so I'll rely on OzB letting me know about future specials.

        • If you made a purchase before and chose to be added to our email list, you should have got a notification today about the sale.

We are working on a customer account system, which will allow you to login and check previous orders etc.

        • It's quite possible on my first interaction with an online business I would not register for email outs, but after several I would likely do so as I'm clearly finding the products and pricing to my liking..

and 99 -> 101 is a big spending gap for me physiologically.
          physiologically? ;)

Could be like me, deep pockets & short arms! Just…can't…reach…that…last…two…dollars! ;)

    • Fitbit ties in with Runkeeper (which tracks cycling)…. but not very well. It just posts to your activity log; RK doesn't actually use any of the data to calculate monthly calorie burns etc. FitBit will import data from a Withings scale (or their own Aria scale) and use it to calculate your calorie burn fairly accurately.

So you're right - there's a bunch of half-solutions, but no really good ones.

      • That would be my assessment as well. It really depends on how deep you need to track the data though I guess and how may different activities you engage in. For example if you swim the FitBit won't really track anything other than that you were highly active apparently. And it isn't waterproof.

One day we will have something that jacks into your nervous system that tracks this data but until then I guess you just need to work out what level of effort it is worth and whether having something will be better than nothing.

I blame ecosystem fragmentation… puts on asbestos suit and jumps into a pool of liquid nitrogen

  • Can you (flingshot) guarantee pre-Christmas delivery? (The last item I ordered from flingshot took a couple of weeks to arrive. The order was placed on Nov 26, and flingshot shipped on Nov 30.) If it takes you five days to process and order and get the goods in the mail I'd prefer to buy from the fitbit website at the higher price.

    • Hi Kritta,

Yes these will all start shipping tomorrow. Can you just send me an email with your details as I would like to chase that up as that is an exceptionally long time for delivery. Unless it was for a USB key in which case that is possible as they are sent regular post.

      • Thanks for the feedback. I have placed an order. The past long-delivery was indeed on a USB key. I wasn't in a hurry to get that order, but I would hope to get this one before Christmas as it will be a gift.

  • Just paid US$106.06 shipped from Amazon which is about AU $101 if you have a 28 degrees Mastercard.
Shipping time is around 7 days.

    • Amazon wouldn't ship to my address - how did you get it to?

-Shipping time is around 7 days…. I'm still waiting for some blurays I order last month (should have arrived on the 4th) - they advised me that it might not get ere until next year. Given the Xmas rush is here I wouldn't bank on it being 7 days.

      • Invoice says it ships from "Heart Rate Monitors USA" so maybe different suppliers have different policies.

I ordered a power tool on Saturday from Amazon and it arrived to day, pretty pleased about that!

        • Yes you have to be aware that not everything is sold by Amazon, if you buy something through the marketplace it can be hit or miss, just like ebay. There are a lot of good resellers on there though like B&H for example.

    • +2

As requested above we will be shipping these tomorrow so everyone should have them by Monday or Tuesday, that said if it is a christmas present then 7 days will get you there as well.

      • Just got a shipping notice today ?

        • A few went out Today, but they were sent overnight so you will have it tomorrow.

  • Received mine today, was shipped yesterday.

  • Got all excited then realised the burgundy is sold out :(

    • Sorry that was an error we actually have stock available.

      • YAY! Thank you! I really didn't want to pay $119 at Harvey Norman or wait x days for it to be shipped from Amazon.

  • If anyone is after the fitbit zip (RRP $69), I got it from domayne auburn for $50, ask for Ryan in the computers department,
I tried to get him to pricematch the old deal of $45 but he said could do it for $55 so I asked for $50 and he said ok

He said he would also match $105 for the fitbit one and they seemed to have plenty of stock.
