Classification board were not pleased with the amount of dismemberment on human targets.
Historically, the classification board haven't been pleased with anything that isn't Sunday School: The Video Game. A bunch of curmudgeonly, crusty, unelected, unrepresentative, decrepit twats.
it's ironic that a country effectively founded by criminals, the lowest rank of society, are some of the biggest prudes in the world.
our ratings board is an embarrassment.

Way before it's time as R ratings only started in 2013. I think State of Decay was the first to get one. Dark Sector was release in 2008 and promptly banned, and then a censored version appeared with MA rating. I don't think the original was re-released, but it would surely get an R rating now.

The first R18+ game was actually Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge if I remember correctly.
