i might be a fool - but how are you meant to play games on a 12gb ps3 when games require install files/updates to be loaded to the ps3???
Some games have no mandatory install, many games only require a small install (under 2GB), and even the game with the largest mandatory install (Rage, 8.5GB) will still work with this 12GB version. You just have to limit your installs to a handfull at a time, and delete/backup whatever you're not playing right now.
Or install your own 2.5" HDD for less than the price difference between this and the 500GB version.
