      That's a whole G, for free!

    • +2

Yep, you get that extra G for free!
Is it only Telstra and Optus that have 4G at present?

      • +1

and Virgin via Optus. was getting pretty solid speeds in Brisbane CBD with Virgin a few weeks back when I was at the casino…

        • +51

Chux, did you just say, you were at the Casino in Brisbane with a Virgin doing Speed ? :P

        • do you know if other wholesale carriers like TPG/LiveConnected have 4G enabled?

        • no

        • AFAIK you need to be signed up to an Optus 4G plan to be able to get 4G, whereas with Telstra you can put your sim card in to any 4G capable mobile and receive 4G.

Unsure about Virgin, I asked them via their Twitter help and they replied saying that as long as you have a 4G compatible device then your current sim would get 4G no problems.

        • Good one! [insert chuckle]

Unique mobiles have come up with the good for Sammy stock lately :)

Unique mobiles do not offer tax invoice.

    • +1

Yes they do. You can print one from your account on the website.

      • +2

You would have noticed that you were not charged any GST during the purchase of this phone, so there is nothing to claim back so no tax invoice will be available. This is because it comes from our warehouse in Hong Kong and they do not have GST on their items.

Above is their reply when I ask them for tax invoice.

        • +5

You can't get a refund on something you don't pay in the first place. The GST exemption on goods <$1000 is why these phone are cheaper than Oz stock.

      • but you cant claim TRS on this

        • +4

You can only claim tax back if you actually have paid it. Whats the issue here?

        • +1

You can claim the cost of the device back as an business expense. You don't even need an invoice. The ATO accepts credit card statements/bank accounts as evidence.

Assuming that it is, that the device is being purchased for commercial purposes :)

        • -3

          No TRS!!!

        • +2

And your issue is? You've made your point. If you want to take advantage of TRS feel free to go an pay $700+ locally just so you can get your $70 back.

        • +1

You need to come to grips with the idea of grey imports. No, you can't claim back GST when your're doing your business accounting. No, you can't claim back GST at the airport. No, they might not provide you with an Australian tax invoice.

There's still a good chance it will work out cheaper. And guess what, maybe I don't want to jump on an aeroplane and fly overseas and back every time I buy a new gadget?

          Edit: Yeah, what he said!

Any good deal for NOTE 2?

    • 4G $699

  • This was $549 in the email, but has dropped $40 since.

  • The S3 4G also has 1GB more RAM than the standard S3. I bought one of these phones from Uniquemobils. All good.

    • Would you know if its a dual core or a quad core processor?

      • +1

According to the Kogan website, both the I9300 (stand S3) and the I9305 (4G S3) have Quad-core 1.4 GHz processors.

  • Any idea on delivery times please?

    • +1

Mine took about a week to arrive.

      • Thanks a lot, just pulled the trigger and ordered one..

Shame cant get on the 4g as I'm with TPG, but worth it for the extra 1gb ram over the 3g model..

        • Edit: replied to wrong comment.

I can vouch for these guys; 5days delivery to VIC using Toll Global courier (default method). Bought same model on their last sale. This is a good price!

    • Sounds great, anyone else can vouch for this site? I've seen deals from them on ozb from time to time with generally positive reviews so i guess i should go ahead. Although would like to know if anyone has dealt with them regarding warranty/returns??

  • +4

Works out to be about $1.20 cheaper than last week!
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/87775

As an Ozbargainer, I wonder if I should send them an email and ask for the $1.2 back on my order.

    • haha exactly my thoughts.

  • But you get a free screen protector last week.

  • You shouldn't regret as you had free screen protector with the previous deal

    • +3

Use the code S34GFINL and you will get not only free screen protector but also free Momax Case.
      Maybe he should regret now?

      • Where were you 30 minutes ago? Damnit :P

The white colour is 30$ more expensive. Isn't that racism?

    • The african-american 4G is about $200 more expensive (than grey 4g) on kogan, now thats racism!

    • The white one is more expensive everywhere :( but I still bought it, still the same price as the non 4g in other websites!

  • Hey Rep, any idea if the 32gb models will be stocked soon? (with or without 4G)

  • Rep, do me a deal on the Note 2 for less than $500 and I'm sold.

    • I'm sure he'll be happy to in about 6 months.

  • Hoping next year it will drop to $400 mark!

  • Patient Ozbar,
Next year sometime they will be in the prepaid bargain bins when the IIII comes out :)

    • Holding out for the 4… rumours sound awesome… mid 2013…

Anyone having trouble switching to LTE on these handsets?
The phone refuses to switch to LTE network. Keeps going back to gsm/wcdma.
I'm on Telstra and even took it to 3 different Telstra stores in Sydney cbd, and nobody can get it to switch to 4g
