I remember this game to be very difficult.
I am one of those who enjoys beefing up the defences first then go skirmishing to reduce enemy supplies, then go in for the kill.
No matter how good my defences were, if you let the opposition get settled they will bring an endless supply of units which eventually wears down your own defences.
A very good game.
You may find playing it now that the AI is nowhere near as good as is expected in newer RTS games, and is trivial to beat in the late game.
To enjoy this you have to play against humans (which is great).

I remember when this game got the highest review score ever on Hyper magazine (98% I think it was?). I never ended up having a chance to play it though, can't remember exactly why (I don't think my pc was good enough to play it).
