  • this is the gen 1 model right, the gen 2 model has already came out in the US. But at 134 dollars it is a very good buy, you are getting a much better sound quality than a BOSE AE2i or Sennheiser HD-25.

At this price, you are effectively getting them at the Amazon equivalent price (or approximately the same) if you factor in delivery charge.

    • +3

Yep! We've got the gen 2 stuff and it's essentially just an update on the looks, the sound is pretty much the same.
Same goes with the earphones, although those have a new cable as well.

Edit: Let's do 50 of them at $99!

      • Hey OP, could I drop in at lunch time to try them out and quote Image50 for the same price or is this nline only?

Would like to check out the gen1 and 2 when in the shop if that's ok.

        Thanks.

  • I got mine a long time ago for around $110 delivered. They are always cheap on Amazon.

Great headphones but the 2 wires tangle a lot which is annoying. That's the only issue I have with them.

  • Great deals! However I'm after a sennheisser pxc450, are you able to match $349?

    • +1

Unfortunately not! Sennheiser prices actually went UP last month =(
It has to do with a big pricing change sometime in the near future, it's a bit vague but we're doing a lot less of Senns atm.

Sorry buddy, but if you're after Noise-Cancelling check out the PSB M4U 2.
They've had rad reviews and sound quality is probably the best I've heard on a NC headphone. At around $360 shipped atm they're great value too!

    • If you'll go 2nd hand there's a guy selling a pair of PXC 450 on gumtree for $200 ono.

      It's not me, but I do own a pair…

  • Are the cables on this detachable?
Also will you guys ever stock Vmoda headphones?

    • +1

      Hi mate, unfortunately they're fixed.
They do come with 2 years warranty though so if anything happens just let us know and we'll swap it out for you!

Vmoda is finally confirmed to come in Jan when the M100 lands!

      • Oh really, nice. Will be on the look out for some Vmodas next year from you guys. Cheers

  • Will you guys do this price pickup in melbourne cbd today?

    • +1

Sure thing buddy come round and you can try them out too!
      We close at 5:30 today

  • These seem to be designed specifically for iPhones etc. If I use them on a Samsung S3 phone will the microphone still work Or will they just be headphones, and will the volume controls work? Similar question for the volume controls if I use them on my PC. Thanks

    • +1

Hi mate, everything will work other than the volume control.
You can still use the mic and the middle button for play/pause/pick up calls etc.

Android version of headphones are really the same thing with one button instead of 3.

Not sure if volume control will work on a PC! If it's a laptop with one integrated mic/headphone port I'd say it's pretty likely but if it's a separate port for the two I'd say quite unlikely!

    • HI have these and a S3 and and controls work for skipping tracks ect. but will not turn volume down/up.

      • +1

Thanks for the confirmation, much appreciated!

  • How do I sign up to your website?

    • +1

We'll send you an e-mail with the order confirmation and you can sign up then!

      • ok just purchased via bank transfer (should transfer in 2 business days)

        • +1

Hi mate, if you can send us the transfer receipt when you've done it we should be able to send it tomorrow so you'll get it before the end of next week!

I ordered a pair about 8 hours ago and had them hand delivered. Amazing service.

    • Wow, does that service work in QLD?
On a serious note does anyone know where you can test these out, Gold Coast?

      • +5

Haha would if I could mate, I dropped off 5 or so that aren't too far away today so some peeps can have them before christmas.
For the rest of you guys unfortunately it'll be Thursday or Friday!

        • +1

          ^ awesome

    • +1

Same here. Personally delivered hours after purchase. A wonderful Christmas treat! Thanks a lot

  • Too far away for the personal delivery, but you timed this nicely and caught me right when I was looking for a set of headphones. Thanks!

  • Catch the review of these bloated cans " (A20) "at head-fi.org/t/433318/shootout yair nothing out of the box, 7.1/10 A/Q: in essence, deemed lower than Creative Aurvana Live! Or Superlux HD668B Or ATH-M50…all in that similar ball park but which have done the rounds OzB before.

I would certainly be under no illusion to trading these for my refined Sennheiser HD595s or even PX 200s, in realisation of the butchered sound flaw. These might compare to Sonys and such for portable use and not more.

But of course, read, read your audiophile reviews FIRST …"The ever-present low end of Image One ends up sounding muddy, bloated, and unrefined." 7.1/10; '$250'..not in hell.

    • +2

It's all about personal preference. Not everyone wants a "refined" and flat sound.

If I give the average customer a $1699 HD800 and ask them to compare it to a $500ish HD650 I'm willing to bet at least half of them will prefer the HD650.
It's a warmer sound and will sound better with rock/pop/hip hop.
Yet audiophile reviews would surely rate the HD800 far above the HD650.

In the store, where we got people to try them out before they buy, often people will pick the Image One over the M50 regardless of price because it's the sound they prefer. The difference between things are often highly exaggerated, between the M50 and Image One I'd say they have 10-15% more bass which does make it fun to listen to "modern" genres.

It's all about finding the sound you like!

      • I agree, no accounting for taste and it does make a splendid case to advocate listen to-compare tests for the half who may hear the 'broader sonic spectrum', just to cut through sony v sennheiser to the real music. Hearing..is believing, in any comparison.

  • Great deal bud, just ordered a set. Nice chrissy present to myself!

    • These came quicksmart and are brilliant.. threw some propagandhi through 'em first up.. I'd never heard music that well before. Definitely a wise choice for my first on ear phones. Heaps comfy too.

      • As an aside I picked up the image s4 in ear phones by these guys from catch of the day a little while back. Conviencewise the might take the cake.. soundwise they blow compared to these.

  • Got one thanks. Great value for the price.

    • Loving it so far. Great buy for the price.
