Cheapest Epson Ecotank printer.
Just pour more ink and go. DPI is quite decent.
Can be converted to a sublimation printer quite easily if you're into that.

Just check out the genuine brother inkvestment ink cartridge prices and compare with ecotank and you will soon see why.
Brother Laser if you don't need colour, and want something to last ages. laser does not dry or get clogged in the head. drum/toner can be replaced with ease
Any colour laser that’s as easy to and cheap to own as b/w Brother laser?
Indeed. My HL-5250DN from 2006 is still going. Hoping it'll break down so I update, but it'll probably go for another 20 years :S
I was told Brother Laser start locking toner and drum on newer models, as for their "update" firmware bunch of alternative toners no longer accepted.
May be showing my ignorance here, but even if you're an infrequent printer, could these tank based models still minimise waste from drying out, because you can just put in a little bit for each time you print out a batch? Assuming you eventually learn how much ink you need for say, a batch of 10 photos?
No the print head is charged with ink. Thats microscopic level. When tbat drys sometimes its not recoverable

Bought this a few months ago, original setup was a little meddling
Works well if your doing lots of printing perfect for my kids lots of prints, can print from the phone.
Only issue I've had the printer goes into standby mode after (2 to 3 weeks) if not used and drops off the wifi network switching the power off and on renders a quick fix!
Plugged into the desktop PC works every time tho
Would recommend if doing lots of colours prints !

What’s the refill cost?
you can find cheaper option at aliexpress
I think it's $20-30 for 4 bottles.Cheap. But like holy crap they last a long time if just regular printing. Like a seriously long time… think I’m at a few thousand sheets (mixed use) and not even half way through inks.
Keep in mind with the ecotank they must be returned to the service agent for replacement of the service tank (my home one is 4 years and still ot close, my work one needed this after 12 months). or you can go on you tube and do the hack (still cost around $10.00) i think all the epson smaller printers have this issue. THe epson 5150 has a user replaceable service tank.
I don't print much so a laser printer would be better for my usage.
Is this a good printer?https://cplonline.com.au/kyocera-p2235dw-mono-multifunction-…
Try the $15 dollar printer + shipping to see if you really need a printer…
There's a good reason why companies / government agencies get rid of their old printers and buy new ones.
I'd rather buy a new one.
I didn't print for a few months and the heads dried up. Just keep that in mind if you are an infrequent printer.
Buying an ink printer in 2025 is nonsense!
Invest into a smaller laser/led printer, no issues with expensive/dried ink coz u didn't use it.Companies make money with selling the ink cartridge so what you saved buying the printer, will be gone buying cartridge. HP blocked generic cartridge via software to force their expensive cartridge.
Buying generic ink often have terrible quality. There's a laser Brother bargain posted here with scanner and all for $15 cheaper than this printer.
Brother is a nice brand, zero dramas, I got a Brother LED Color printer for $400 (RRP $500) to replace my Brother Laser Mono, these printers' tonners will last you from 1000-3000 prints each tonner.
LED printers are the same as Laser but cheaper, less moving parts and smaller because they don't need the whole laser mechanism.Ummmmmm….
Ooh nice price, I got one of these to use with sublimation ink for DIY crafts. Works well and is an easy way into sublimation printing.
This or the Brother? I hear Epson Ecotank is generally more favoured.
