    • Came here to say this. I stock up all the time and yeah this is a good deal.

Fk red bull just buy Flying power from Aldi, tastes the same for $1/ 250ml can

    • +2

Older Flying Power were made in Austria, probably by the same company that bottles RedBull, Pfanner.

Now they are made in Australia.

      • +9

Read that as "… were made in Australia… Now they are made in Australia," and was briefly confused, a real Bush moment 🤪

        • @AustriaBargain - did you suffer the same issue?

    • The purple flying power is so tasty

  • Do they ever sell the 500ml no sugar pastel coloured ones they have at the gas stations?

    Those taste amazing

You mean the Refresh cans? You'll find them on special occasionally depending on the Coles/Woolies/IGA, but the 250ml versions are included in this special.

IGA is probably your best bet for when the 4pks are half price.

Those are the ones! Awesome thanks

    • Yeah they're my first energy drinks I've had in probably a decade. I like both flavours.
I'll add soda sometimes if I'm having them at home to make them go further

    • 500ml 4 packs were discontinued, very sad considering they were often on sale for as cheap as flying power

    34.5g sugar per 250mL can…

To get a better comparison of concentration, that would be the Coke equivalent of 51.75g sugar per can at that volume.

Handy information for anyone who considers their own risks of metabolic dysfunction, liver disease, vascular complications, end-organ ischaemic burden, chronic heart and cerebral and renal failure, and mortality.

A coffee (preferably with fresh beans) and a piece of fruit will do the same job 👍

I have 4 or 5 litres of diet soda a day and have for pretty much 20 years.

I'm sure I'll die sooner and more painfully for it,

BUT if I drank that much sugar I'd need a crane to lift me from my house, so at least I have that going for me.

        Water is free though

Got a $460 something water bill just yesterday that begs to differ.

          • @TheDukeOfNukem: 460 for quarterly right. How many people are in uour household.

          • +1

@TheDukeOfNukem: Laughs in 125,000 litre rain water tank and $0 bill.

@MS Paint: But your water tastes like compost. Trust me! All of your guests are too polite to tell you.

              • +1

@ripoffmerchant: Lol. No it doesn't. We've had family bottle it to take back to the city with them.

    • +2

Yeah but its rare to find someone who doesnt have at least one vice.

Some people will drink multiple beers in a day.

If a can of V in the morning is the worst you're doing, id wager you're still 'living better' than a huge majority.

      • 51.75g sugar … mortality.

Yeah, I think a little over reactive.

      • Artificial sweeteners have the benefit of lowering direct calorie consumption from the beveridge choice, and some will find an improvement of body weight and metabolism (usually the more obese on high volume consumption of sodas).

Indirectly, artificial sweeteners appear to be driving hunger signalling, especially for other sweetened foods / drinks, by adversely affecting the profile of gut-related hormones (e.g. causing hyperinsulinaemia, and increasing the famed GLP-1). This usually results in compensatory intake when artificial sweeteners are consumed, which is thought to primarily explain why switching from refined sugars to artificial varieties has either no or minor changes to calorie balance and weight for most people.

But the biggest issue with artificial sweeteners is how badly it harms gut microbiome and the wide ranging effects that can have.

This means that disease sequelae, like metabolic dysfunction and vascular complications, and it's risk on increasing all-cause mortality, is very similar with the use of artificial sweeteners. It's likely a good switch if you're obese and a high consumer of refined sugars, i.e. the (slightly) lesser of two evils, but the real difference comes with replacing with whole and unprocessed foods.

When they brought "black v" flavour back, i was so happy.

  • Aldi Cola (with extra caffeine) the new "flying power" sugar free wasn't great

  • Anyone can recommend me good flavor?

    • If you like super sweet lolly water, Blue. Its like liquid blue gummy straps.

If you like a 'bite' with a strange mix of coffee and blackberry, Black.

Original V (green) is crisp, like a cider, but i cant place a flavour other than 'V".

My favourite is black, but its the 'strange one'. Most people like Blue over Green, who ive asked.
