Is this a good price for a electric razor?

  • +1

This is a great price. As indicated, choose retail packaging and NOT frustration free.. Also you'll likely need to purchase US to AU power plug adapter. Although I'm not sure if the jet clean system would require an adapter as well ?

  • +1

    Agreed, neg revoked.
Just cancelled my last order and put this one thru.
The Jet clean System is a must.

    • +1

Hardly a must, man. Have you used both to compare?

I have the 1250X WITHOUT the Jet Clean system and it's takes seconds to clean the thing. I can't see how spending ~$40 more for this is a 'must'.

      • +3

I agree I mean really how lazy do you need to be to not just wash a razor under the tap for 10 seconds. Mines still running great after years of doing this. Its a gimmick

        • +3

Plus you have to buy the special fluid for the cleaning system.
Most of the reviews say it's not worth it.

        • -3

What you save by not buying the cleaning system, you spend replacing the shaving head because leaving water to dry by itself on blades makes them wear out faster.

  • The Jet Clean System is supposed to be pretty crappy, so I'm not sure if I would pay extra for it. Still a good price if you really want it though.

    • +4

Yeah I agree. I have the jet clean system and never use it. Doesn't work that well. Easier to wash it under the tap.

  • Do you guys even read the posts that people make? He clearly says to choose Retail packaging.

  • I would also use the jet clean system to hygienically store the shaver after use.
I have my current one just sitting on the bench.
Also check your maths, $25 more is well worth it unless you believe water cleans everything.

    • -5

The non-Jet system was on here a few weeks ago for ~$90 AUD delivered. Which is when I got mine.

      Maths. Checkmate.

  • According to reviews, the jet clean system is meant to prolong the life of your razor.
Theoretically speaking, your razor will last longer and you would be saving money on razor heads that would cost you probably more than the extra money your forking out on the Jet Clean System version.

It can also be used to charge the shaver , ? can be used a charger station , maybe ? not sure about this

Water actually damages the metal used in razors, this reminds me of an article i read about putting a layer of vegetable oil on your normal 3 or 5 blade razors and they would last for months.

    • Yes it charges

    • I've got an older version of this, no jet clean, 8 years old & still going strong!

  • +1

I bought this last year with jet clean system. Great shaver, jet clean is good but a bit of a fad, not needed really. You also need to buy cleaning solution to put in tray, which I believe can't be shipped by amazon. Overall it's worth extra $25.

Power cord is detachable and I use the au one that came with my beard trimmer to charge. Can only be plugged into jet clean or additional stand, not razor.

    Great bargain and highly recommend.

Is it safe to use on my ball sac ?

    • +1

Try it and let us know how the hospital visit goes and how much the nurses laugh :-P

      • +1

It's best to buy a dedicated ball sac shaver.

  • Whats people opinion going using this over a std razor?

    • +1

Like comparing beef at McDonald's to a sizzling piece of steak

    • +3

std, my first thought was not standard…

    Thanks,ordered the 1150,came to US$63.67.
Cheapest i could find in Aus is $135.00 - http://www.ozworldmarket.com.au/product/philips-norelco-1150…
    Big W $198 - http://www.bigw.com.au/beauty-health/mens-shaving-grooming/e…
Shit we get bent over down under.

    • Used my 28 Degrees Mastercard to convert so it came to AU$61.56.

I have the 12xx and using a homebrand razor is quicker and easier.

    • I love how i get a neg for stating what i think of this product, i didn't even neg the deal as the price is awesome compared to AUS stock.

Please continue to tell yourself it is an awesome way to shave. Ill leave mine in the cupboard and continue to use cheap razors which DO the job so much easier.

      • Lets see… full shave with a razor takes around 3-4 minutes with me including putting on shaving cream.

Full shave with my 1250X takes ~1 minute give or take.
Not sure where the quicker & easier is coming from.

You got neg'd cause you stated your opinion as fact. It's not.

  • Has anyone had one of the Phillips shavers for more than 2 years? I'm curious on the internal battery life seeing it can't be replaced and you can't shave with it while it's plugged into the wall unlike my old Phillips one I have atm (which doesn't hold charge for very long. It's a few years old)

Oh and does anybody else use these to shave their head as I use my old one to do mine and it does a fine job. Blades are dying but i've never replaced them over the few years I've had them!)

    Cheers.

  • I bought the 1250X/40 for my dad - does anyone know if I'll need an adapter to use? It was the deal from last time (sorry I'm on my phone and can't post the exact one I bought).

  • I want to get new shaver but looking at amazons deals, all shavers has lithium baterry. Should people prefer one with AA/AAA? For me i dont want to carry extra charger when travelling. Have too many already (iphones ipd camera etc)
