Instructions for accessing Amazon Appstore outside of the USA:
http://android.appstorm.net/how-to/internet/how-to-access-th… (Random guide I got from Google, but method will work.)

You may download the Appstore directly from Amazon by visiting this link from your Android device, rather than risk an .apk from a 3rd party:
www.amazon.com/amazonappstoreapp

You may also need to install and run a VPN to make it look like you are in the USA; try the free TunnelBear VPN.

I like your instructions on how to set up an account ;)

Yeah it just came to me. :)

    +1 for the effort.

    awesome..

Awesomeeeeeeeeee… World of goo free just not long ago now tunein pro and office suite!! Free premium android apps ftw!

  • I had a lot of drama's setting up an account (kept saying I was not in an authorised location). Finally worked when I changed the payment from a test visa to a test Amex card number.

I did not need to use any VPN software (Tunnelbear does not even work on my tablet)

I signed up for an Amazon account with a valid US billing address and still get this message when I try to get apps: "We could not process your order because of geographical restrictions on the product which you were attempting to purchase. Please refer to the terms of use for this product to determine the geographical restrictions."

EDIT: I added a test Amex card and it seems to work now.

  • What address can i put in! i put in something like "129 Burbank Blvd North Hollywood" and it keeps saying its invalid. What else do i need to put in? help?

    • Make sure the ZIP code matches up with the city.

      http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/m/

Any of these will work along with the above amex test cc number, doesn't matter about cc name or exp date.

      • Tried 5 or 6 addresses from there and filled in all info exactly & it keeps saying "The street name or number appears to be invalid."

I finally got one that works but when I went to make the purchase on my phone it says "There was an error purchasing. Please click here to add an address to your account"

Could anyone share an address that works for them?

Edit: Finally fixed it by following the steps here to restart, force stop & clear data - http://www.amazon.com/forum/kindle?_encoding=UTF8&cdForum=Fx…

  • Finally my details worked. Thanks

  • hey guys, it says i need to change my details..how do i do this? must this be done on the computer as I can't find anywhere in the app to change my details in the mobile phone

    • Go to amazon.com on your phone web browser or use a computer.

  • actually I managed to change it after lots of change around, but worth it!
anyway, can anyone tell me where to view all the free apps in the amazon app? there is "free app of the day" at the top but it is only one of them…can't find the rest which the poster wrote above unless manually searching for them…would like to know this for future use so i know where to look for the free apps

    • thats it.. free app of the day is just for that day. it reverts back in price the next day

    • but it is only one of them…can't find the rest

Scroll across to see the rest.

  • If you're crazy like me and you get the app of the day every day, you will notice that there are no new apps in this list that you don't have already

    • will you also notice that this is the "Greatest Hits" selection? :P
ie, the top 15 FAOTDs from the past year (although tbh there were some better free ones this year that should have been included instead)

  • The amazon app store work the same as the apple app store? as in if downloaded i can install on any of my devices? As my new Nexus 7 is MIA so i've downloaded on my amazon account using my mums phone. So i'll be able to just install on the nexus when i get another one?

    Thanks guys

    • yep
you can even just login on a computer ang click "get app now" (or whatever it says)
it will then add to your cloud and you can download it at any time to any of your devices.

      • Awesome, thanks.

  • Looks like this deal is now done. Hope all who tried did manage to get an Amazon account to work and are now enjoying your free apps.

    Cheers.

  • Are these still free? Cause they are not showing as such - im wondering whether i buggered something up with the US address shennanigans

    • Unfortunately the deal has finished. Sorry mate.

  • Find one free,chuchu rocket is free now,normally 99c.

  • Does anyone know if they've had SwiftKey 3 Tablet as a free app yet?.

    • +1

      sounds familiar. i think so.
there is a guide out there somewhere that lists every free app that has come and gone, if you can be bothered googling it.

      • I thought that once the deal had expired you can't get it for free unless they make it app of the day again?

        • +1

correct. the list is just for historical purposes.
rarely does an app become the FAOTD more than once, so if you are hoping for a certain app to become free, and the list showed that it had already been free, then not much point hoping for it to become free again.

        • Ah I see. That makes sense. Thanks 100.
