Just browsing at BigW and came across what I see are great bargains in the phone and computer section in Glenorchy Tasmania. Presume these prices are nationwide, and I have not seen cheaper anywhere else!!

    How some ppl on ebay know how to unlock this specific model (u82) but many websites say they cant unlock this model. Do they need special tool to get the unlock code.

    I also asked Officeworks if they would beat the price and they said that a receipt isn't good enough to prove it and it must come up on Big W online for them to consider it. :(

    Vodafone Pocket Wifi 2 looks like the 3gb model, sure its 6gb?

    Also, is that pre-paid, or will I be automatically subscribed to a monthly plan or something? Do you register in store, or just buy it and then register online?

        Probably not worth it then. Better to wait for a Pro to come at 50% at Dick Smith.
        Just checked unlocking, one will probably get a free code, other wanted payment, so ordered one on eBay for $2.40. Makes it 17 a pop for an unlocked Wifi, great bargain.

    No Pocket WiFi 2 at Carindale & Garden city, Brissie. Just 3 $8 N150 at Garden city. Those stores said they only stocked 1 Pocket WiFi at a time.
    Got 2 Pocket WiFi 2 & a N300 today for $41.42 with ING PayWave.

      You have hand it to these folks at Big W, clever result at viral marketing doing their work but just the most abominable +outrageous Stock Control (provisionment)/ E-commerce site I have known. I know it definitely felt like a lure after my ring around multiple stores..all carrying no [!bait] of course… curse these retailers for inadequate ' levels.

        Pretty normal experience with reduced price stock being cleared. Staff were amazed they still sold these. Stores said they never stocked more than 1. This was not a promo by BigW, so can't complain about inadequate stock levels. Just a good chance find by the OP!

          1 item per store" - surely this is the definition of a prize, if they were being serious (I think not, probably provocative);

          I did not find suggestion of a product 'clearance' either, simply Voda WiFi 2 as promoted by Big W-display in store. Many stores.

          I think the OP exposed/photographed a wonderful deal (i.e. self evident) but that BigW just maintain woeful stocks, that plus the unavailability of accommodating rain checks will work against them in this environment.

          BigW told me Rainchecks are not available on clearance stock like this. Haven't found stock at other retailers - as "superseded by the Pro".

    Crazy Johns have them for about $40. OfficeWorks $55 although I don't think their stock level is great and they may not do low price guarantee on clearance items.

    Picked up the last one in Gungahlin, ACT. Note that there were two types. The models in the larger boxes scanned at $8. The models in the smaller boxes scanned at ticket price.

    Big W at Rosny Tas reckoned (today) they were Boxing Day specials only. Is that right? That's what Glenorchy Big W told him when he rang. Anyway, no Wifi 2s left, only the Pro model for $79.

      Hi Tassie Pete. Was just over there myself, your right only the Pro available. As far as I can see if you find BigW stock the price will be $15.80.

      Picked up an N150 in a larger box for $8, while the smaller box was $48+. Actually upgrading my mums computer to Pocket Wifi, hoping the speed picks up from the current USB modem :). Didn't want to waste an N600 I have in the cupboard on Facebook games and emails!

        Out of interest the wifi 2 at least doubled the USB dongle speed. About 1.5 down and same up, sometimes reaching 3 up.

    Called every Big W in a 30km radius of Northcote, Melbourne and no one has any.

    The Internet is down at our place and adding data packs to my mobile plan is starting to hurt. If anyone has a spare modem or two they'd like to sell me if they bought a bunch I would lovelovelove to hear from you

    A late response as was overseas - had to re-open comments to make it.

    Just connected The Pocket WiFi2 from this deal. (Bought 2 at $15.80ea in December.)
    Receipt shows it was reduced from $79, so came with 3G data & 30 day expiry, not 6G & 94d as posted by OP & others!

    A bit disappointed as I bought for the 6G & 3 month of data.
    Upside - Vodafone just sent SMS to say my unlock code is available - FREE, via Vodafone unlock site!
    (Took 2 working days) I inserted a non-Voda SIM & entered unlock code via dashboard on phone - easy.

    Anyone get the posted 6G/94d???
