Can you please provide a detailed link to register? Thank you.

    • Can't find the deal either - more info please.

Cheers. Good deal. I have found the 4 Woolworths near me have trouble with Amex cards. The credit card reader would not work for the last 10 transactions. Anyone else have the same issue??

FYI, after refusing to pay with cash or Visa a manager put my Amex in a plastic bag and it swiped OK. Apparently a know problem. Bizarre issue.

    • never have this issue.

    • +1

I have at the cheapo $2 shop place near me & they did the same plastic bag trick. It is the card reader, not the card but you could ask your issuer for a new card with a chip & then you would no longer need to swipe it :)

      • Can you get the Westpac Altitude American Express card with a chip?

        • I believe the new cards are being issued with Chips. My DJs Amex came with one this time & I could choose a pin finally :)

Ask your provider for a replacement card. Problem solved.

      • +1

Works at every store except the 4 Woolworths. i originally thought it was a scam by Woollies to stop you using Amex, but possibly they have different readers than other stores. Never had any issues at any other stores. Though, should get a new card to see if it helps.

Some readers can be a bit more tempremental with dodgey cards. A quick call to the card provider is much less headache in the long run :)

        • scam??
          lol

I've had that once. The checkout person used a piece of sticky tape and it swiped fine (tape came off fine too).

      • If you have lots of cards with magnetic stripes next to each other in your wallet, sticky tape is a great "permanent" way to protect them from being damaged. Done it to all mine!
