$99 for 2 Year Skwirk Subscription - Interactive Schooling

20

It's usually $99 for 1 year but I received an email that it is now the price for 2 years for a limited time due to a new site release soon.

Skwirk teaches children between years K-10. They also allow kids to practice and receive points which can be exchanged for small prizes like these. (More a motivator than a site where you try and get back your subscription fees in prizes like an OB person would want. :D) (http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/3103/b86a8232403b46a1a17c…)

They have a referral system so if you buy the package make sure you post it in the comments below and when you refer 5 people you get another 12 months of access.

  • Anyone know of similar learning programs, but not online? Ie printed material is preferred

  • I can't see anything on the site about this meeting any Australian standards for education, although there is a testimonial from "Seamus O'Grady " who is, apparently, the CEO of Sydney.

While extra coaching is good, just bear in mind that if the content is not what's covered at school, or worse, wrong, then it's not going to improve your kid's grades.

  • We used this for a while, only for the junior levels so I can't comment on the higher levels, but my kids lost interest and our subscription was wasted.

  • these sites are pretty bad. its better to have your child privately coached.
sites like the one op posted and others such as mathsonline etc etc are only usefull if your child is wanting to be ahead of the class. they dont help when a particula concept is not being understood well.
i am a private tutor so my opinion may be biased but i had a child i was tutoring who was nearly 2 years behind where she was supposed to be and she was using these web based programs to teach herself.

only works if your child is already aware of the best learning techniques and wants to refine their skills
