I have the version 2 and it's one of my favourite items I own. This is a great price for what is an absolutely banging piece of kit.
I have the extreme 2 and it's good sound….however the charging is via a dedicated charger, the Extreme 3 and above are USB C charging which is much easier.
Link through the JBL app the Extreme 2 with my older, much older, charge 3, which unfortunately, is micro USB chargingEverything USB C now is sooo much better

Have used an extreme 3 for around 2 years now and love it so much (as well as the smaller charge 5's),
that I purchased another cheap ($224 refurbished) extreme 3 in order to play them in stereo.
Available in black and blue for this price. JBL Extreme 4 also has a bigger replacable battery,
and connects with the new "Auracast" but is backwards compatible with the previous "Party Boost" bluetooth tech.

it's cheap, because it was overpriced to begin with. $699 I think.
there is the Soundcore Boom 2 now which sounds better than Xtreme 3, and is $169 on sale ($219 normal price).
Is it actually better? Im disliking the lack of (specifically deep bass) on the extreme 4, also Is the boom 2 better than the motion boom plus?
tbf I'm just going off most reviews and opinions but most users say yes Xtreme 3/4 reduces the bass quite quickly the more you turn up the volume.

the Boom 2 is the new version of the Motion Boom so it sounds better than that. and yes Boom 2 is cheaper than the Xtreme but has deeper bass and sounds better. they said you will need to play with the EQ on the Boom 2 though to get the best out of it.
Yeah I think the Xtreme 4 reduces output on battery but plugged in should maintain volume. I went with the epic boom instead because I only use BT speakers outside.
