These must cost you like 10c to buy. $2.45 including shipping. Your ebay fees must be nearly a $1, your shipping cost must be at least 60c (plus envelope) and you need to still make some profit!

Great price, don't know how you do it at that price!!

I don't make a lot on each item but as I have said in previous posts, I am building up my little business slowly, and as I increase my sales of each product they slowly become cheaper for me :-) It takes a bit of doing but I manage it :-)

  • How fast is shipping from these guys? I'd like one or two within 2 weeks :)

    • +1

I'm in Melbourne, I ship them out pretty quick by regular post.

    • I got 2 from the last batch and received them in 5 days. (Melbourne —> Sydney) Probs. doesn't help considering i'm late 13 hours, but just saying that it's better than waiting 3+ weeks for the same thing from offshore.

  • Do you send these in envelopes?
Surely these are thicker than 2cm…

  • Thank you, great price.

    • You are most welcome

  • Not a bad local price. eBay cheapest from China 0.99c + 0.99c so a bit cheaper but can take up to 3 weeks to arrive!!

DealExtreme takes ages, well at least when I bought from them last time. Also, cut the rep some slack I guess, if you've ever posted something with AusPost, you'll know that half of they money you're paying is going to postage probably.

      • DealExtreme takes ages

last few times i ordered, i got my items in less than 2 weeks…

        • I agree. Dealextreme have improved their shipping times and I have 3 of these from DX. If you consider price alone then this price isn't anything special.

      • +8

Cut the rep some slack? What next, give Gerry and Sol some tax breaks so they can they can compete with all the overseas retailers as well??

        • +1

especially when the items all come out of the same factories in China…

if the items were actually made locally, then I'd agree with supporting a local retailer… at least that way you would be creating local jobs…

        • Well technically we are creating one local job. Not to mention we are inadvertently supporting auspost etc.

    • even cheaper if you buy more, but
this guy is selling from within aus, so you'd receive in 2-3 days rather than 2-3 weeks from dx

      great deal OP

      • ..and that's if they turn up from DX

    • DealExtreme isn't Australian stock. That's the difference I guess.

        • I did forget to put in the ABN, which was my bad. It's the old adage, you can have things fast, cheap and good quality. Pick two out of three.

        • @jv — OP has declared his ABN in his first eBay post which is 14 653 943 878. Good idea to do some research before reporting.

i would consider the extra $0.85 as express postage. My experience with dx is that items only arrive after a minimum of 3 wks. that's at least 3wks of wondering whether i will see my purchase.

  • Thanks, just grabbed two, hope they work well.

    • +2

If you have any problems with them, be sure to contact me and I will sort any issues out.

      • Thanks, even though it's not a large purchase, it's good that you make post-purchase support a priority as well. I think that's the problem with any sort of business, post-support, it's the only way to keep customers and bring more in. It's tough competition out there, so all the best.

        • Much appreciated.

  • Good price. Can't find last deal though. Hope they decent enough.
Paypal wanted me to pay after delivery again #ynot.

  • These are not USB car chargers; These are USB car charger adapters.

Good point, I'll edit now. Although, I would love to be able to run my car from USB, would be much cheaper.

    • +1

Thanks for that, I thought these would charge my hybrid camry :-(

    My first post.
Still cheaper to buy overseas, can't beat their prices. Sorry.

True, not looking to be the cheapest anywhere in the world, just to offer good local deals.

  • most devices now and future prefer 2A, 1A too slow charging.

    • -1

Phones as a general rule are about 1A, tablets and such are 2A. This isn't a hard and fast rule of course but it's a fairly accurate generalisation.

    • +2

To conform with USB all devices must:

      • Work for coms at 100mA
      • Work at 500mA on a computer
      • Work at 1.8A on a dedicated charger

So everything will charge at 500mA (OK they don't have to, but if they don't you will be really annoyed), and shouldn't draw more than 1.8A.

Where you may get into trouble is that if this uses a termination resistor on D+/D- then that indicates to the device that it can draw 1.8A, which is not the case (and doesn't conform to the standard). If it doesn't have the resistor then it confirms and devices will charge at 500mA (slowly).

No device (tablet or otherwise) should ever draw 2A from USB (doesn't mean that they don't).

      • +5

could you put all that in simple English?

        • Assuming that your device and this thing both comply it means:

Your device will charge at 500mA (slowish).

If one or both don't comply then one of two things will happen:

A: Your device will charge at any rate from nothing up to 1A

B: Your device will draw too much and the charger will fail (unlikely).

    • Both my Galaxy Note 2 and iPad 4 need 2A or more. I'd also like two usb slots.

  • Done, bought, thanks OP. Sold Out now :)

I will get more in as soon as I can and let you know about it :-)

ozbargain buyer power at show. perhaps i should link my store here.

  • I don't see the bargain here?

    $1 from eBay;

    www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mini-USB-Car-Charger-for-Apple-iPhone-3G…

    • +1

that's 800mAh, not designed and will not work with iPad

      • i wonder if we can open it up and short the pins.

        • +1

I don't know what you think you are doing that for. I GUESS that you mean add a termination resistor across the data pins, indicating that 1.8A is available, then wait and see if the smoke gets let out when you try to charge something. Personally, I wouldn't do this.

      • +1

If you are going by the standard, the iPad should only draw 500mA from either, as this and 1.8A are the only divisions that the standard allows.

Great deal fraqtl. Good luck with the business :)

  • Grabbed a couple while there were 56 left and by the time I completed there were 0. Both cars covered now.

Only $3 from the "reject shop" and comes in 'Apple white'. 5v/500ma
I bought one the other day, perfect.
I also got one with a "good quality" charging/data cable for iphone3/4 and with cigarette charger for $5.
i thought that was better value and i had it straight away :)

  • wondering, can i use this for other brand mobile phone instead of apple iphones?

  • Ordered them earlier, thanks buddy!

  • If you can wait, Ali Express has some good prices for quantities of 10. Cheap enough to give to people for no reason at all.

    • +1

There is a good chance ali express is where the op sourced their stock from.

Got mine for a dollar, posted to me from Hong Kong. Admittedly, it took about 10-20 days, but I got it and wasn't in a huge rush…

I'm sure these are better quality, but I'd rather buy 3 for a dollar and replace when they break than buy one for $2.45 which I can't replace without paying double.

    • You got one for a dollar - but you hope to buy 3 for a dollar in the future? where?

      • +1

        think he means $1/each

        • I do. I noticed that, but thought it would be obvious what I meant…apparently not.

Cheers for clarifying that to J 1, Steptoe.

        • doh, excuse me for it's Monday & it's new years eve - not a good combo

  • Does it work with Samsung Galaxy S2?

    • I have an iphone car charger like this one and it works with my Galaxy Nexus so I would say yes to the S2 etc.

  • Good deal but missed it unfortunately.

  • deja vu didnt order nearly enough again!

  • Bleh missed out again. Can someone comment on the build quality of these? I ordered 3 from DX last time and all three of them blew up on me in the car…

  • Got mine earlier this afternoon & have tested it with my Galaxy Nexus (Samsung), all working nicely.

    Thanks fraqtl :)
