It's a good deal - Make sure you do not use your existing points to purchase, as that may invalidate the awarding of bonus credits.

Hmm a 12V set would be really handy. Light and compact. But I’ve already got 3 18V drills and an impact driver. Use them all though.

  • I've been wanting to get on the MW wagon for a while after borrowing a mates gear. Is this a good range to get into or would the 18V be better for general home DIY use? What are the used options like - not worth?

Either the M12 or M18 would be more than enough for home DIY projects. Personally I’d look for a more affordable range from Bunnings, as these tools can still be quite pricey for home use.

In my opinion, Milwaukee tools are favored by fanboy tradies (don't get me wrong, I am one of them), while brands from Bunnings (ie. Ryobi) offers more budget-friendly and reliable options. They also have a good selection of other home maintenance tools, such as those for gardening.

If you still want this, get it. Other than it being pricy, these m12 are light, versatile and reliable.

I like this because of their size, weight and power for the size.
Little things like the length of the tools allows you to get into tight spaces etc.

I barely use my 18's now unless I have something big to do, like use a 1m extention and drill a 21mm in a noggin, but my go-to is my 12v range.

Also my if you don't use the ratchet they sell very easily on Facebook for $200. Making this a $330 investment.

  • This deal is much better in the USA. However getting it here is the hard part. I was lucky enough to live there and get this deal for $200 AUD. As long as it's the M13 Fuel, it's a great deal, albeit at Aussie prices.

    • I got the American deal 2 years ago.
      The ratchet wasn't fuel.
Also $200usd was about $300 AUD and freight using a forward ahipper with lithium batteries was like $150. Also got stung with taxes.

For the effort it was not worth it at all, then you don't get warranty.

I did just get a pair of impact wrenches (mid and high) for $600aud and had family bring it back for me.

I've been thinking of buying this set. But I'm starting to think it's just overpriced. It sounds like a good deal because it's reduced by so much then you add in a freebie, then add on credit. But it's 2 little drills, for $500. Sorry I'm not biting. Agree, the US gets much better pricing, similar to outdoor clothes and equipment. I recall someone talking about the massively inflated cost of cordless tools on here recently in some deal. And how the manufacturers get away with battery incompatibility between them so they lock you into their ecosystem (unlike the CAS system by Metabo and a few others).

couldn't agree more, its a total ripoff. if you look at M12 prices, they are the same as other 18v but the tools are generally underpowered and run smaller batteries (for the benefit of smaller size).
