Ordered two today and got them for $460 and $289 with two different trade in phones.

@Nkl: Stack with Amex $100 back for further discount

            • @Oh Daddy: Need to spend $500 to get $100 back under AMEX offer

              • @rifter: Add a case, memory stick, screen protector, surely there are plenty of ways to tip it over $500 to get $100 back

                • @Oh Daddy: Just note to those reading this thread. Don't forget the AMEX conditions.

                  • @rifter: What are the amex conditions?

                    • @Hydralyte: If eligible t&cs will be listed in your amex account when you activate the amex offer.

          • @Nkl: Whats the Samsung app?

          • @Nkl: The app will not allow me to stack the 5% with the discount code. One or the other. Samsung confirmed. This is with no trade though…

Thanks! Got to $414 with my S21+ trade!

    • Too bad I don't have spare phone to trade in. Nice find tho'

      • What a shame!! Not just a $30 penalty at worse I guess

    • +1

Sold my Samsung S20 at CEX for an extra $300 off. My S24 costs me <$200!! Bargain of the century

    • Any thing that's worth $1 tradein that can use? And they still charge admin fee for not returning?

    • Insane that they want to charge $800 more for the plus version

    • Thank you mate, ended up getting one for $489 with trade in and chat-voucher. Big upgrade from my 4a that has had it's battery nerfed recently.

  • +1

Is this much of an upgrade on the pixel 7? Mainly concerned about the camera quality.

  • +2

Needed to replace my Pixel 2, thanks!

I'm not even old; I'm just a lazy 26 year old who thinks about the porting I gotta do now. Grill me regardless please lol

    • +4

26 and has already given up on life. Don't think we'll grill you (much) mate

      • Nah very outdated name.

Yours is timeless though, of course

    • +2

Who says you need to port, just backup all your needed contacts and data to google cloud, swap sims to new

phone, back up new phone to google cloud, finnish setting up some quirky Galaxy settings or not

and away you go, enjoy new phone.

      • +1

        Thanks for this mate!

  • Stupid questions

If I do the trade-in but then don't send it, am I better off, or worse?

Where is the information on this AMEX cashback? I've got an AMEX, but can't see the offer in the App?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

edit: OK I found the AMEX cashback link and it says expired? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/893235
edit: OK so the Asurion terms and conditions state that:

If You return Your Existing Device to Us more than ninety (90) days after the date on
which You receive Your New Samsung Device, We will:
    (i) not accept Your offer to transfer ownership of Your Existing Device to Us (in
which case You do not enter into a contract with Us for the sale of Your Existing
Device to Us and ownership of Your Existing Device will not transfer to Us); and
(ii) arrange for Your Existing Device to be returned to You.
    (c) If clause 7.3(b) applies You will not receive a refund of the Security Charge due to You
already having received an equivalent reduction off the Purchase Price of Your New
    Samsung Device Online.

I'm guessing this means if you have a trade-in value of $170, that you'll get:

    $1249 original price
    Automatic $500 off = $749
    -$170 trade in value = $579
    -$150 trade in bonus = $429
Plus security deposit you won't get back if you don't send them your phone = $599? Not bad for a S24 new?

    Is this about right?

    • +$60 non return fee for not sending your phone back.

      • Weird didn't see that in the terms. Thanks. Hardly worth it

        • Samsung told me if you dont send the trade, you will also be charged back the associated discounts…

  • How much do l get if I trade in a broken screen s23u?

    • +1

Go through to the checkout and it will have a question about damage. When you click that, the trade in value will change.

  • Do these take SD cards?
I think the headphone jack isn't there anymore but hopefully they take storage.
My s20 is at capacity and battery is starting to die. Looking for a replacement that can take 512gb SD

    • +2

I believe after S20, samsung remove SD card slot for next gen…

      Using S24U rn from S20 FE 🙃

      • +1

Thanks! Yeah I'm using s20 fe 5g too! Awesome phone. Tempted to just buy another as it has been an absolute trooper and stashes 100gb of work videos and pics on the SD card ready for site visits. Then can pop my drone and digital camera cards right in to copy, edit and share footage without draining battery of both devices transferring GB of data wirelessly.

  • Hi All,
Have a non functional pixel 2xl , can this be traded in for the $150 discount?
    Thanks

  • Best phone I've had since an iphone 4s.

  • I bought mine from Samsung Commbank Yello store for total cost: $649. No trade-in or vouchers.

    https://www.samsung.com/au/multistore/commbank_yello_au/gala…

    $1249 (original price)
    - $500 (off)
    - $100 (applied on the commbank yello store after you use a Commbank debit/credit card)
    = $649

Pretty good considering it cost $1399 only two months ago, still has 6 years of software update support, and the new S25 is barely any improvement from the previous model.

  • Thanks i'll try it tomorrow. -$150 for sending my old phone sounds too good to be true.

    • Hope you didnt mean buying direct from samsung because that finished at 1am aedt. No more $500 discount but the $150 bonus trade in got extended until 9th.

  • This wasnt the lowest price without a trade in. You could get 15% off the discount price from Samsung with a code which would have made it $636.65 + cashback. Code did not work on edu/epp sites or if a trade in was added.
