Looking for a good headphone for the meetings. Very tempted on this.

The cheaper prices from other places may not come with boom mic.

Went to that store to take a look out of curiosity, and then saw the Meze audio cables and laughed.

I haven't tried these but I've got the Fiio FT1 and apparently they compete with some way more expensive headphones at their price. They are currently $269 at addicted to audio. I've had them a couple months and they are amazing.

Good shout in terms of value!

About $200 after coupons and cashbacks at the moment if you want to go the AliE route, probably $180 when such offerings peak.

The Meze 99 is such an old and relatively unrefined product now, certainly not worth it at this price.

      • Agreed, not even remotely worth it at that price. HD 620s + Antlion Modmic (and a 2.5mm>3.5mm adaptor) and I'm in heaven for less, with a mic swappable between cans.

    • I demo'd those back to back against the Sennheiser 620's last week. Similair sound, amazingly open and airy for closed backs, the FT1's are incredibly at their price point….but the sennies absolutely demolish them in passive noise isolation. As they should, for the price point. $388 down from $600 though, yeah boi.

  • Headphones were a bit expensive….so i got this much better value cable.

  • Are these good for gaming?

    • Yes. Just like all headphones they are good for gaming

  • It's $550 in many places…

    • This is with boom mic.

      • Oh right, completely missed that for some reason, no idea what it's worth but revoked the neg.

  • Can't see the appeal of these when the Fiio F1 can be had for $269.

Better get the Massdrop version for $189 USD delivered (with $10 sign-up coupon), which sounds identical to this one.

    • " In the case of the 99 Noir, we began 2 years ago with prototypes that had varying reductions in bass—and even prototype drivers aiming for a more neutral sound. But after rounds of testing and community feedback, we realized we had lost a lot of what made the 99 Classics special. In the end, we decided not to change the sound signature at all, so the reviews you see of the 99 Classics are representative of what you’ll hear with the 99 Noir. "
