Bought this a couple of months ago. Snappy tablet. A bit disappointed with lack of firmware update

    https://www.alldocube.com/en/forums/topic/13597/

    • SD6 will not be snappy after a while

      • I think depends on use case. The SD835 phone I got 2018 is still snappy ish as long as I don't run heavy games on it.

it's not too hard to achieve a snappy UI these days, but your point do stand (which is why I upvoted you)

it's not a power house, and it probably only snappy at day-to-day app.

  • I also purchased this but from Amazon when it was on sale for about $30 more then this and this is a great tablet for emulation. Also purchased a S3 Memo tablet controller grip and a black case for it during the recent Aliexpress sales and its so much better. But yes doesn't seem to have much in the way of fw updates.

will a custom rom work for these kind of tablets?

Is this good for an ebook reader? My reason for asking is i have a huge collection of PDF books which I have trouble reading on standard eink readers.

    • Depends on the page size of the PDFs. If they are A4s, then you might want a larger screen. If your content works for 8.4" screen, then this will surely work. I prefer this size for browsing and use a 10" screen for my PDFs.

  • Do these have active pen/stylus support? If not, are there any similar options (in terms of size and budget) with active pen support?

I saw this deal and purchased it last week. Mine just came yesterday. Note that this is the turbo not the pro version, you will have better hardware however the software is said not to be as good as the pro version. I don't mind much since I'm happy with stock android and care more about individual app performance. A few things I noticed:

    1. The default android launcher doesn't feel smooth for 60hz. Not sure if it was because i'm too used to the tab s10+, however individual app works well if that's your priority
    2. There is no sensor to detect when the folio case close, you need to manually lock/unlock the device with button. No fingerprint sensor either.
    3. There is a default screen protector applied but it creates a lot of friction when use. I recommend to purchase additional 9H screen protector with it.
    4. Stock android comes with it is pretty limited it terms of customisation, only just basic functionality. It fits my case since I only need bluetooth and blue light filter.
    5. Note that this version is not 4G supported
    6. I'm noticing some trouble with USB file transfering but could be my cable

Overall I'm happy with my purpose of ebook reading since i only use a few apps, light and easy to hold and doesn't come with bloatware. The battery is quite optimise as well.

  • My iplay mini pro 50 was good until a little knock cracked the screen. Trying to replace but not the cheapest. My other aldocube iplay device just died on me (would not charge) but at least they refunded me for that one. Clear, any deals on replacement screens!

  • Are these good for car rear seats tablet for Kids? Never tried this brand bfore

    • Yes, but would need a wifi hotspot as no 4g connectivity.

  • I would not recommend. Bought one for family couple months back, and the lcd screen came out of the frame.

  • Nice, perfect size for the Galileo G8+. I'm gonna give this a go for use with sunshine/moonlight streaming from my gaming pc

  • I have one, and it's not the best for gaming. Struggles a bit with PSP, PS2, and 3DS emulation, and definitely not recommended for Android gaming.

I suggest to consider Y700 2nd gen, even though about $200 more expensive, might be worth it.

Mine arrived today and for the price it is great. I have it connecting to my gaming PC with Artemis (https://github.com/ClassicOldSong/Apollo) and am playing Hades II @ 1440p quite smoothly. The audio isn't the best, but it's fine. It feels much like an iPad Mini.
